Unique head of department position in Social Psychiatry

Social and Psychiatry in Favrskov Municipality is in constant development, and we therefore seek a department head for a newly created position at the Youth Offering Carma with commencement on December 1, 2026. We are looking for you who have an interest in professional communities, well-being among staff and citizens, as well as professional weight and experience to support the continued development and ensure the operation of Carma.

Ungetilbuddet Carma consists of 15 apartments under the Welfare Act section 107 and two common houses. The target group is adults between 18 and 30 years old with mental disorders and/or social difficulties. At Carma we work to support a youth environment and a clear progression-oriented approach. In addition, mastery guidance is offered under the Welfare Act section 85 in the transition from residential care to own housing.

There are 14 employees working in three teams. The department has a part-time coordinator and is supported by an across-the-board work shift planner, currently this position is vacant.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about making a difference for young people with mental and social challenges, and who at the same time maintains a sustained focus on a good working environment, well-being, and psychological safety.

We seek a leader who will practice management with a strong citizen perspective based on a recovery-oriented and rehabilitative approach. It requires that you can lead and support the staff's work in collaboration with the citizens. At Carma, the first steps have been taken in implementing LA2, where work with well-being plans has begun and will be a professional focus in the coming years.

As a manager, you must be able to engage in close cooperation with citizens, authorities, and employees to continuously support and adjust the interventions so that they create value for the citizen.

You must be able to look across areas and professional groups and prioritize a holistic effort in collaboration with the citizens. We seek a leader who sees solutions and opportunities and puts the citizen's perspective at the center.

As a department head in Social and Psychiatry, you must be able to organize and lead tasks and interventions so that employees and citizens have the best possible opportunity to act and make decisions close to the task. You must be able to translate the area's vision and strategies into a common direction, approach, and followership in our joint task resolution. You must be able to formulate measurable development goals and strategies at both the common and local levels.

In collaboration with your area manager and financial staff, you must have insight into and overview of your own budget to ensure stable financial operation.

In the department head team you will be part of a group of five department heads who help each other across operations and development tasks. Who are you?

• You have an education within the social or health sector or another relevant education.
• You have experience with leadership or can document a suitable leadership talent.
• You have a leadership education or are prepared to pursue a diploma in management.
• You have experience from the psychiatric field.
• You have experience with LA2 and preferably with its implementation.
• You have experience with the residential care area, either as an employee or as a leader.
• You thrive in and contribute to an organization characterized by development and continuous improvements.
• You have a flexible and appreciative approach to work and to the staff and leadership colleagues you collaborate with.
• You can delegate tasks, keep an overview, and be available to the employees.

• You have a positive and curious approach to the dilemmas and the complexity that comes with a leadership role.

We hold first interview on Friday, October 23 and second interview on Friday, October 30. Between the first and second interviews you will participate in tests and test feedback, which will take place on October 26 and 28. Between the first and second interview there will be a salary discussion. After the second interview we will obtain references. Employment terms
