About the job

Are you passionate about Danish, and do you have an interest in children's language development? Then we have an exciting position where you can combine teaching with a coordination role and help strengthen children's opportunities to learn and participate in the community.

At Vemmedrupskolen we believe that the best results are created through strong communities, relationships, high professional standards and close collaboration. We are looking for a teacher for a fixed full-time position at 37 hours per week, who wants to become part of our engaged collegial community.

About the position

Your primary teaching task will be Danish in the early years. Here you will help create a safe and motivating daily life with focus on students' reading and writing development, linguistic curiosity and desire to learn.

In addition you will have hours allocated to be the coordinator for the effort around a group of students with a need for special support for their language development. This includes among other things multilingual students needing support in Danish as a second language as well as students with language difficulties, including DLD (developmental language disorder).

The effort focuses on strengthening students' vocabulary, language comprehension and ability to express themselves, so they have better opportunities to participate in teaching and the school's community. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the speech therapist, class teachers and the leadership.

As the coordinator you will among other things

  • coordinate efforts and follow up on agreements with the involved professionals
  • contribute to making linguistic goals and relevant approaches part of the teaching
  • support knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues
  • monitor students' development together with the speech therapist, class teachers and the leadership.

If you can also teach craftsmanship and design or visual arts, that is a big plus. Please tell us what subjects and competences you can contribute with.

Who are you?

You are a trained teacher, have teaching competence in Danish and an understanding of children's language development and the challenges that can be associated with it. You are clear in your classroom management and greet the children with warmth, respect and positive expectations.

We also value that you

  • can work in a structured way and keep an overview in a coordinating role
  • thrive in close collaboration with colleagues, other professionals and parents
  • take responsibility and follow up on common agreements
  • contribute with engagement, curiosity and good humor.

You do not need to know everything from day one. The most important is that you have a solid professional foundation and a desire to develop your practice in collaboration with others.

What we offer

With us you become part of a workplace where we help each other, share ideas and take joint responsibility for the students' learning and well-being.

You will get

  • engaged and helpful colleagues
  • a visible and approachable leadership with room for dialogue and sparring
  • allocated time for the coordinator role and close collaboration with speech therapist, class teachers and leadership
  • opportunity to shape and develop the school's linguistic initiatives
  • good physical premises in a modern and renovated school
  • a daily life with humor, trust and room for professional development.
