Sacristan sought for Højdevang Church

We are seeking a sacristan for a minimum of 22 hours per week starting 1 December or by agreement.

About us

Højdevang Parish is a lively and welcoming parish with approximately 13,380 inhabitants. Our church office is staffed by 2 employees, and we emphasize good and close cooperation between priests, the parish council and other staff. You will work in pleasant surroundings at the church office, where you are the face of the church.

Your primary duties

• Personal registration in the digital parish register in collaboration with the parish priest responsible for the parish's civil registration (births, names, marriages, deaths) as well as daily operation of the church office.
• Serving at the church office during opening hours (phone and in-person inquiries).
• Secretarial work for priests, parish council and committees and functions under the parish council
• Administrative tasks such as booking rooms, practical coordination and updating the church's digital platforms.
• Church service duties at services, confirmations, weddings and funerals to an extent to be agreed.

We expect that you

• Have completed the mandatory 5-week sacristan training (or are willing to take it within 2 years).
• Have good IT skills and ease in getting acquainted with digital case management systems.
• Are service-oriented, friendly and good at meeting people in different life situations.
• Work in a structured, independent manner and maintain an overview in busy periods.
• Respect confidentiality and have proper data discipline.

Salary and terms of employment

The employment is with Højdevang Parish Council.

The employment will be covered by the General Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and CO10 – the Central Organization of 2010 and the Organizational Agreement between the Ministry of Church Affairs and CO10 – the Central Organization of 2010 for church officials with core duties as sacristan, church and cultural worker or church musician and the accompanying protocol for sacristans.

Current civil servant sacristans have the right to retain their civil servant status upon appointment with direct transition. In such cases, a classification of the position must be made.

The position is classified in salary group 2. The annual salary is to be agreed within the range DKK 350,435-442,216 (current prices). There is a “availability” obligation to the position. The availability allowance amounts to DKK 39,597 per year (current prices)

OK24 allowance of DKK 3,476 (current prices) per year.

Salary, OK allowance and the availability allowance are quotaed in accordance with the position's employment fraction.

The parish council's proposed salary level is DKK 381,961.20 per year for a 37-hour appointment (current prices). An agreement on placement in the salary range is reached between the parish council and the Danish Sacristans Association.

Criminal record and child protection checks will be obtained, and there is a 3-month probation period.
