AniCura Copenhagen's Animal Hospital is a 24/7 open and staffed hospital located close to Copenhagen city center.

There is a 5-minute walk to Copenhagen S station and about 1.5 km to the Holbækmotorvejen exit.

The hospital's clinical focus is centered on referred patients to the hospital's specialists, intensive care, monitoring and treatment of admitted patients in longer illness courses and on patients who are admitted through our 24-hour emergency department, with all forms of disease and injury.

The hospital does not treat patients for vaccinations, health check-ups and elective procedures.

The position

In the position in the Surgical Department you will become part of a small group of nurses, one of whom is the team leader.

The team leader is responsible for your development and well-being in the group, both personally and professionally.

The surgical department also has 5 specialized veterinarians attached, who together with the VSP team handle diagnostics, examinations and surgeries on referred patients from clinics in the surrounding area and from the rest of Zealand.

Patients are referred to the hospital for, among other things, lameness, disc prolapse, cruciate ligament injuries, patellar luxation, fractures, tendon injuries, etc., and are diagnosed using X-ray, CT scanning, ultrasound and eye surgeries.

The team is also responsible for performing operations, investigations and examinations on patients who arrive at the hospital via the 24-hour emergency department and on patients who are already admitted to the hospital's ward.

The role as a veterinary nurse in the surgical department is varied and the tasks include anesthesia, radiographs, dressings, assistance during various surgeries, medication, contact and communication with clients, etc.

In addition to the duties as a dedicated surgical nurse in the operating department, you will also be part of the on-call nursing team in the hospital's emergency department.

In the emergency department you will meet all categories of patients across all specialties and help ensure the initial stabilization, care and treatment, in collaboration with an experienced emergency department veterinarian.

Working hours on weekdays 8-16(17).

The position is initially scheduled for 37 hours – other arrangements can be made in connection with employment

Induction and training program of approximately 2 months duration – to be agreed upon in connection with employment and as needed

Included in the fixed working time are about 5 evening/night shifts per month in the hospital's emergency department.

Included in the fixed working time - work every 4th weekend and participation in holiday rosters – to be agreed upon in connection with employment
