Sparring partner for project economics and controlling Pharma, Medtech & Industrial Manufacturing

THE POSITION

As a Business Controller you will be an important part of the company’s finance team while also functioning as a professional sparring partner for project managers, other functions and teams around project economics and controlling. You contribute with sparring and ensure development of a strong financial understanding, accountability and progress throughout the organization. You will become part of a smaller team and report to Head of Finance.

You are offered a broad and independent role with great influence on both priorities and solutions. You will also participate in relevant meetings with the management around budget, forecast, projects and financial performance.

YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsible for project-controlling and financial follow-up on projects, including budget, forecast, completion status, contribution margin and expected final result
• Contribute to monthly closings, including IGV/WIP, accruals, reconciliations and financial controls
• Analyze income statement, balance sheet, liquidity, working capital and material financial variances
• Prepare and ensure quality of internal and external reporting and contribute to budget- and forecast processes in close collaboration with Head of Finance
• Collaborate with project managers and other functions on the business, project economics, risks and follow-up as well as challenge financial assessments constructively
• Ensure coherence and quality in data from transactions and bookkeeping to reporting and management information
• Contribute to development, standardization and documentation of financial processes.

WE ENVISAGE THAT YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant financial education, e.g. HD, HA or cand.merc., alternatively a strong accounting/audit background combined with relevant business controller experience
• Solid and documented experience as Business Controller, Project Controller or Financial Controller, preferably from a project- or manufacturing company
• Solid hands-on experience with project controlling and project economics, including IGV/WIP, completion percentages, contribution margins, accruals and provisions
• Good accounting understanding and experience with monthly closings, including the relationship between results, balance sheet and projects
• Strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency as well as experience with financial models and variance analyses
• Experience with management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and ability to translate financial data into relevant information and actions in the business
• Experience with ERP systems and understanding of the link from transactions and bookkeeping to reporting as well as experience with liquidity and working capital
• Familiarity with Business Central, Jet Reports, Power BI and digitalization is an advantage but not a requirement.
