We are looking for a teacher to teach mathematics and English

We are seeking a teacher to handle mathematics and English instruction at our school in Tårnby.

The position is full-time with start as soon as possible but no later than 1 January 2027 .

Teaching takes place at the D-, E- and G-levels.

Contact teacher role

All teachers at FGU Hovedstaden are contact teachers. The contact teacher regularly holds progress interviews with their students, where personal, social and academic progression is made visible. In this work we emphasize student involvement and co-creation.

Didactic principles

As part of FGU's didactic principles, the pivot is working with portfolios, which aim to make the student's progression visible. It is the teacher who assesses when the student is ready for the final exam. All students are assessed individually based on their portfolios.

We work from a holistic learning approach, where practice-oriented and project-oriented teaching is at the center of all activities.

Our students

We have a diverse, lively and wonderful group of young people, who all share the need for a supportive hand to help them move on to education or work. Several of our students have reading and writing difficulties, which we accommodate by creating an inclusive reading- and writing-friendly environment.

Your profile

It is an advantage if you have several of the following competencies

• You have a teacher education or an equivalent education.
• You have experience working with young people in the target group for FGU, e.g. from the special education sector, VET (EUD), primary school or similar.
• You can create a structured, holistic and practice-oriented teaching environment for a group of students with very different starting points and backgrounds.
• You can build relationships and think in terms of finding new paths to learning

FGU Hovedstaden

FGU Hovedstaden has 4 addresses, 110 staff and nearly 600 year-level students. FGU stands for the preparatory basic education and consists of three tracks: general basic education (AGU), production basic education (PGU) and vocational basic education (EVU).

Conditions and application deadline

The appointment is 37 hours per week and the workplace is FGU Hovedstaden, Amager Brønderslev Allé 25, Tårnby.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the Organizational Agreement for teachers, etc., at institutions for preparatory basic education (FGU).
