About the job

We are seeking an educator for a permanent 25-30 hour position as a contact person for children at Viborg Crisis Center.

We encourage all interested individuals with relevant education to apply, regardless of gender, age, cultural and religious background.

About Viborg Crisis Center

Viborg Crisis Center's primary task is to provide crisis help, care and safety for women and their children.

The crisis help is provided by the staff, who give advice and guidance so that the women gain a better understanding of their own situation and thereby become able to change their current life situation.

The crisis center's values

  • Every person is unique
  • All people are, regardless of race, gender, social status, religion and life circumstances, equal and have a valuable role in the collaboration
  • People have a need for love, safety, care, respect, forgiveness and stimulation in order to develop optimally.

About the job

Would you like to create good and safe surroundings for the children (0-17 years) and their mother who are staying at our crisis center?

As a child contact person you should seek a trusting relationship with the children and their mother so you can provide them with the best support and care.

We therefore expect that you have experience in establishing contact with children and adults in a respectful and safety-building way through play and interaction.

It is important to us that the children feel seen and feel as important as their mothers.

We expect that you have a focus on the child's well-being and development, which is central in both formal processes and the more informal contact with the child.

As a child contact person you will work systematically and holistically with observations and descriptions of the child.

You and another colleague will be responsible for ensuring that the child's perspective and voice is illuminated in writing in statements to authorities and in conversations with the child's mother.

The statements are prepared in collaboration with the mother's contact person, with whom you will generally work closely to meet the family's needs.

In addition to the tasks as contact person for the children, you will be part of the overall crisis center, where we share practical tasks and community-building activities.

You should have good collaboration skills and be focused on good cross-disciplinary cooperation with your colleagues and thrive on lifting together.

This also means that you will participate in the counseling where victims of violence call in, participate in intake interviews with women, have contact with partners (e.g. Family Department, Family Court, the police etc.) and participate in care conversations with the women in the house.

We expect

  • That you are a trained educator and have experience working with children
  • That you are good at building relations with children of all ages through interaction and play
  • That you are open and good at collaborating
  • That you are good at both written and verbal communication, as we continually document our observations in daily life and produce written work in the form of notifications, crisis center statements etc.
  • That you are flexible in your approach and have the opportunity to work at different times of the day/week, as the position includes evening and weekend shifts.

It is advantageous

  • If you already have violence-related experience, but the most important is that you have a strong interest in developing knowledge and skills to work in violence-related fields
  • If you have experience working with vulnerable and at-risk children, including children who have experienced violence in the family
  • If you know and have experience with Empowerment, SARA-V3, NADA, KRAP (Cognitive, Resource-focused and Recognitive Pedagogy)
  • If you speak other languages than Danish and have knowledge of working cross-culturally
  • If you have a standard driver's license (B).

We offer you

  • An exciting job with challenging and varied tasks that will give you opportunities for personal and professional development
  • A dedicated and strong professional environment where we jointly work purposefully to stop violence against women in Denmark.

Working hours

  • 25-30 hours per week
  • Evening and weekend work will occur.

You can expect weekend work on average every 3rd weekend and evening shifts about 1-2 times per week.

Salary and employment

  • Salary and employment terms:

Salary is set based on the applicable collective agreement and a concrete assessment of your education, your documented work experience, as well as your professional and personal qualifications.

Before employment and entering into the salary agreement you have the opportunity to receive information about the starting salary in the specific position.
