About the job

Are you passionate about creating the optimal environment at night? Do you have a sharp eye for both acute medical treatment and the importance of good sleep hygiene? Then you now have a unique opportunity to become part of our team.

In the Acute Geriatric Department we place high importance on ensuring our patients have peace to sleep. We know that good sleep hygiene and a sense of security are fundamental to the recovery of the elderly patient. As our new night shift nurse, your primary task will be to create an environment where the calm settles in, while you provide nursing care of high professional quality.

Your daily life and professional profile

You will gain broad and in-depth knowledge of geriatric and internal medical patients in a department with space for 22 patients. Your tasks will include:

  • Active sleep hygiene and relief: You work purposefully to remove obstacles to a good night's sleep. This means you have a sharp focus on Pain management and other factors that can disturb sleep, while minimizing noise and light in rooms and corridors.
  • Complex nursing care: You handle acute medical issues such as infections, sepsis and respiratory challenges in the elderly frail patient.
  • Security and wholeness: You meet the patient with presence and create safe frameworks for physical, mental or social challenges, so the night feels safe for the individual.

Who are we?

We are a staff group consisting of both new and experienced nurses as well as social and health assistants, all passionate about geriatrics. We value interdisciplinary collaboration highly to ensure the good patient journey – also beyond the hospital stay.

We cannot promise that some nights are never pressured. But we can promise you that we stand together and help each other, so you are never alone in things.

We offer a workplace that takes care of you

  • Focus on your health: As a night shift nurse with us you are offered a regular health check to ensure your well-being and balance in working life.
  • Recovery during the shift: We prioritize your well-being, and therefore there is opportunity for a power nap when tasks and the shift allow it.
  • Professional development: A broad knowledge within the medical specialty with ample opportunity to improve yourself.
  • Management and framework: A present leadership and a position of 20 - 28 hours with a weekend shift every 3-4 weekends .

We expect that you

  • Are a trained nurse with a desire to create the optimal pathways for the elderly patient.
  • Are a colleague you can have full trust in, and who takes responsibility for the community and the patients in the quiet hours.
  • Place a high emphasis on sleep hygiene and master the art of creating calm and security.
  • Contribute to our working environment with a positive attitude and good collaboration skills, even when tasks require a cool head.
