Would you like to help create a safe and stable everyday life for a man with acquired brain injury? Then you might be the disability caregiver we are looking for.

About the task

We are seeking a disability caregiver for a 54-year-old man with frontal lobe brain injury, who lives alone in his own house in Vordingborg. He has hemiparesis but can walk with support and needs help with almost all daily functions.

Your tasks include assistance with personal care, cooking, ordinary household chores and social activities. This can include, among other things, short walks, visits to family or activities at home, which contribute to a safe and meaningful everyday life.

The citizen's energy and mood vary from day to day. He can be both quiet and loud and can sometimes react impulsively in frustration. Therefore it is important that you meet him with calmness, clarity and an acknowledging approach, so you help create predictability and secure surroundings.

The assistive device Raizer is used at home. Additionally, PN-medicine is given when needed according to current guidelines. Note that smoking is allowed in the home.

About you

You are unskilled, and it is an advantage if you have experience with frontal lobe brain injury or similar tasks, but it is not a requirement. You will receive thorough training before you work independently.

The most important is that you are calm, patient and reliable. You can maintain an overview in situations where the citizen becomes frustrated, and you manage to create a safe relationship through a stable and respectful approach.

You thrive on working independently and take responsibility for the tasks, while also being part of a fixed and well-functioning team, where sparring and collaboration are highly valued. We are seeking an employee who wants to be part of the program for a longer period, as the citizen benefits greatly from continuity and fixed relationships.

Working hours

3-6 overnight shifts per month.

Shifts run from 08:00 to 08:00 the following day.

Work is carried out with ongoing shift planning without a fixed rotation, and the shifts can be on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

You should be aware that you cannot be sure to sleep every night shift, as the citizen may be awake at night in periods. Therefore night supplements are paid and not only availability allowances.
