About the job

Do you have experience with accounting, financial administration or financial processes – and are you motivated by both daily operations and finding smarter and more efficient solutions?

Then you may be our new colleague in Group Accounting at the National Police.

We are looking for an engaged employee who can help solve and develop accounting tasks across parts of the police and the prosecution service. You will become part of a center with a broad portfolio of tasks, where we handle daily accounting operations, provide advisory support and support the development of workflows and processes. In addition, we monitor and perform controlling of the entries already registered in the accounts, so we can correct errors and contribute to learning and improvement of the administration in the area.

Your tasks

With your concrete task solving as the starting point, you will be responsible for supporting that, across accounting and finance, with fewer resources we can ensure a more correct accounting registration the first time. This can include:

  • Handling and quality assurance of invoices in the State's Digital Procurement System, including dialogue with suppliers and users with a focus on ensuring correct registration the first time
  • Handling and quality assurance of travel reimbursements in the state's travel reimbursement system, Nyt RejsUD, so the use of the solution is optimized as much as possible
  • Advising and guiding the organization on accounting rules, correct and efficient use of financial and accounting systems
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and more uniform administration across the organization with a view to paving the way for more automation and digitization in the area
  • Contribute to controlling and performing analyses of the accounting registration in different areas to support correct practice, a solid governance framework and efficient processes

You will thus have a combination of operational tasks, controlling, analysis and development tasks, where you must be able to go into detail while maintaining an overview and contribute to development.

A wide network and a portfolio of varied tasks

Group Accounting tasks span a wide range, and you will have a large network in the organization. We solve many of our tasks in collaboration with, among others, the rest of Group Finance, police districts, and State Administration. This means that you must be able to navigate between different considerations and issues and have the opportunity to use your professional skills in many different contexts across the organization.

We come together when it counts

Although many of us do not wear a uniform or carry weapons, the police mission shapes our culture. We look each other in the eye, shake hands and take care of each other. Exactly as colleagues around the country do at shift changes at the station. As part of the national emergency response, we react immediately if crises arise, just as we act quickly when daily work is burning. When needed, we all step in, e.g. at year-end, when we are all busy.

Who are you?

We emphasize that you can create an overview by working structured and independently in your task solving. You thrive with tasks that can vary from fixed operational tasks to development tasks, which you solve yourself or in collaboration with your colleagues and manager. You are motivated by delivering results of high quality and can work independently, including seeking relevant knowledge. We also emphasize that you have good collaboration skills and an open mind, so that you can engage in an open dialogue about the task solution with your colleagues.

Your educational background is not decisive, but it is important that you have experience with or interest in being involved in an economics and accounting function. We imagine that you are either a newly graduated academic with professional experience or have an office education with a few years of experience. In addition, we value your willingness to acquire new knowledge in areas you may not have experience with.

Salary and terms of employment

If you have an academic background, you will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the agreements between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Association of Academics. You will be classified as a senior officer with a qualification allowance according to negotiation.

If you have another educational background, you will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the current state office staff agreement between the Ministry of Finance and HK/STAT as well as the OAO-S joint agreement.

Your workplace will be the National Police, located at Polititorvet 14, 1567 Copenhagen V.

It is a condition of employment that you can be security cleared, and you must be able to maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

The National Police has a smokefree work period.

In the police, we all work together for safety and security

We are about 18,000 employees in the police, where about two-thirds are police officers and police cadets and the rest are civilian employees. We are all deeply committed to ensuring that the kingdom is a safe and secure place to live – whether we work with operational contingency, prevention or investigation, or contribute with one of the many other important functions in the police.

The National Police is the police's top authority and has overall responsibility for the kingdom's 15 police districts. We ensure that the districts have the right framework for their work and development. We stand behind good leadership and education. Behind service weapons that match the task. Behind proper help if the wound has affected the minds of our police colleagues. We stand behind technology that keeps up with development. Behind the allocation of resources. Behind the police of the future. It is us – the National Police – who are always behind those who stand at the front.
