Water Planning Specialist

Your job

As a specialist in water planning, you will be an important piece in the puzzle as we deliver drinking water to 179,000 customers every day. Your analyses and calculations form the basis for the development and maintenance of more than a thousand kilometres of water mains, both now and in the long term.

With your insight into data and system models, you help plan maintenance, operation and expansions of the water distribution network – in short, you optimize the infrastructure.

Your tasks will include, for example

• Plan renovation and expansion of the network using IT tools such as Rehab-IT
• Carry out hydraulic calculations for different scenarios of urban development
• Collaborate with project managers on, among other things, sectionalizing and sizing for new water projects
• Work with models of the distribution network (e.g. setting up AQUIS and EPANET models)
• Spread the use of modeling tools, e.g. to better detect leaks

Your base is our office in Odense C.

Your colleagues

You will become part of a strong professional environment in our drinking water department, where you work closely with team leaders, project managers and project staff on waterworks projects.

You also get good opportunities for specialist sparring with colleagues in VandCenter Syd’s hydraulics team on the wastewater side.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in modeling of the distribution network – and a good understanding of a water supply task distributing drinking water.

We imagine that you have a relevant engineering background and/or experience from a similar role in the utility or consulting sector. If you already know tools such as Rehab-IT, EPANET or Aquis, that is a plus.

You must be good at collaborating and bridging across different disciplines, as your work sits right at the intersection of planning, execution and operation. As a person, you are structured and systematic, and you get a kick out of creating technically exciting solutions to everyday challenges.
