About the job

Youth with disabilities in the Family and Counseling Center seek 1 social worker/social facilitator

Do you want to help further develop a strong youth-with-disability team – professionally, humanly and organizationally?

Are you passionate about working with young people with disabilities and their families? Would you like to become part of a team with high professional standards, strong collegial cohesion and a good working environment – and where we continue to develop together?

Then you may be our new colleague in the Youth with Disabilities team in the Family and Counseling Center.

We are looking for 1 social worker/social facilitator for a parental leave cover.

About the Family and Counseling Center

The Family and Counseling Center is a large house with more than 150 engaged colleagues, distributed in the following teams: reception, children, youth, disability, placements and an administrative team – as well as family care, night consultants and internal institutions.

We work from facilitative leadership, where professional direction and solutions are created in dialogue. We regularly pause, use data actively and examine our practice so that we can always become wiser and better – together.

Structure and systematic work are important elements in our work because they provide the best possible support to children, youth and families. We use, among other things, Signs of Safety as a common method and common language.

Youth with Disabilities team – from newly started to strong community

The Youth with Disabilities team was established in autumn 2025 as part of a broader reorganization in the disability area.

Although we are still a new team, we are also a well-functioning team with high well-being, strong community and an informal, helpful culture – where we lift each other up and enjoy ourselves while we do it.

At the same time, the team is still relatively new, which means that you still have the opportunity to influence both culture, collaboration formats and professional workflows.

We work with young people aged 13 to 23 with disabilities and their families.

The tasks are broad and include, among other things

  • Preventive and compensatory interventions such as lost earning capacity and eligible expenses for compensation.
  • Family therapy, contact person and respite/relief care
  • Individual and targeted training as well as home training
  • Compensation benefits and lost earning capacity
  • Integrated case management and close cooperation with internal service providers

A secure start and ongoing professional development

When you start in the Youth with Disabilities team, you will be met by a structured onboarding process that gives you a solid foundation in the disability field, the law and our practice.

Learning and development are an integral part of daily life. The training draws on our concrete practice and covers both classic authority tasks and more relational aspects, including:

  • Involvement of the young person in their own case
  • High-quality written work
  • Collaboration with families in complex situations

We learn through professional sparring, reflection and joint development – because quality is created together.

Support in everyday life

You will receive solid administrative support, which among other things helps with

  • Calculations via the Municipality Calculator
  • Sending of decisions
  • Creation of interventions
  • Requests for access to documents and administrative tasks

In addition, you will have access to fixed legal sparring from a lawyer specializing in the disability field.

This gives you more time for the social-work and relational aspects of the job.

A different recruitment process – the “organization thinks together”

In the Family and Counseling Center, we are currently implementing a new mindset - "The organization thinks together".

This means that we increasingly want to involve employees in decisions and give them room to be co-creators of the practices they work in daily. The aim is for management to take on a more facilitative role rather than a traditional decision-making role.

This is also reflected in this recruitment process, where the interview is conducted solely by a staff member from the Youth with Disabilities team.

We imagine that you

  • are educated as a social worker or social facilitator
  • work independently and systematically
  • have knowledge of – or interest in learning – the Child Act and the Social Services Act
  • thrive in a daily life with both relational work and administration
  • are good at building trust with young people and families
  • want to contribute to a team that is continually developing
  • are curious, engaged and motivated to learn
  • are a team player who values community and sparring

You must have a driving license (Category B) and be willing to make your own car available for work-related travel.

Experience is an advantage but not a requirement – motivation and approach are highly valued.

We offer

  • Happy, involved and helpful colleagues
  • A strong professional community with focus on learning and development
  • A team with high well-being and a good working environment
  • Opportunity to influence a team in ongoing development
  • 1 day of home working per week
  • Thorough introduction and ongoing training
  • Buddy system and close sparring
  • Regular supervision
  • Course in Signs of Safety
  • Strong administrative and legal support
  • DUBU as a professional system along with the methods ICS and SOS/LØFT

We seek a workplace with diversity and encourage everyone, regardless of gender, background and ethnicity, to apply.
