Would psychiatry be for you? Become a substitute at S10, Department of Psychoses, AUH

We are seeking nurses and social and health care assistants for ad hoc, summer vacation, and weekend relief in Ward 10 (S10), Department of Psychoses.

Whether you are newly qualified or experienced is not decisive for us. The most important thing is that you want to work with people with mental illness and contribute to a strong multidisciplinary collaboration.

Who are we?

S10 is a 24-bed ward that treats patients with psychotic disorders in various forms. We work purposefully to create safe and meaningful patient pathways with high professional quality and respect for the individual patient’s needs.

Our approach is patient-centered, and we have a strong focus on environmental-therapeutic methods and the Safewards principles to prevent conflicts and reduce the use of coercion. At the same time we actively work with non-pharmacological measures that support patients’ coping and recovery.

We are a large and multidisciplinary staff group that works closely together and brings our individual competencies into the patient pathways. In addition, we have a close collaboration with Clinic 1 and OPUS, to ensure coherence between admission and further treatment.

We imagine that you

• are an active contributor to the development of psychiatric treatment and the professional efforts in the ward
• want to work with de-escalation and Safewards as central tools in encounters with patients
• see value in collaborating closely with patients on action plans and treatment courses
• contribute with ideas, reflections and professional input to everyday life in the ward
• thrive in a multidisciplinary collaboration and take responsibility for your own tasks

As a relief, you become part of the daily treatment and care of the patients. The tasks include, among other things, relationship work, medication management, observation, environmental-therapeutic activities, multidisciplinary collaboration and support of the patients’ recovery process.

As a weekend relief you work based on your possibilities and you can choose to work more or less regularly.

There are positions with great flexibility, where you largely have the opportunity to influence both the number of shifts and the preferred shift pattern. However, a few courses are mandatory.

Salary and employment terms

We hire with start from 1 December 2026 and interviews will be held continuously.

Salary and employment terms are governed by the applicable collective agreement.

The position is conditional on satisfactory authorization and is paid according to the applicable collective agreement, but the position can be applied for with expected completion of education within the next months.
