About the girl

In Værløse lives an 8-year-old girl together with her parents, her 2 brothers and a dog on a farm. She has a brain condition, autism and ADHD. She is a very willful, talkative and positive girl, who loves animals - especially horses and enjoys being creative. She has a wide range of possible conversation topics. She is typically happy and very friendly and really wants social interaction, but she can have difficulty engaging in it. She uses many resources for everyday tasks, but it is not always expressed.

She can have difficulty expressing when she becomes physically or mentally exhausted as well as explaining why she feels the way she does in various situations. She otherwise has a very fine language and tells what she would like and what she does not want.

She is mobile, but she has increased fatigue. She walks and runs short distances. She has a wheelchair and an electric scooter, which she can drive herself. Certain sensory stimuli such as strong smells and when many things happen can be challenging, where she may need support from a present adult. She profits from a alternation between active outdoor activities and quiet activities, where she, for example, does something creative.

About the task

You will spend time with the girl at home on the family’s farm. The girl often has many good ideas for activities that you can do together. You will participate in these activities and follow her in what she wants and at the same time help to keep you in an activity that is not finished -e.g. if you bake a cake and it is not finished. You can be outdoors in nature and e.g. take a walk or look after the family’s animals. She is very fond of horses and likes to ride.

The family may get horses at some point, where you can also go to them, but they do not have them yet. For indoor crafts you can do something creative together or other, where you use your head. You should remind her to go to the toilet and remind her to wash hands - the rest she handles herself.

Because she has increased fatigue, she can become exhausted. She does not like being asked whether she is tired or whether someone should help with something. It is therefore important that the helper is good at reading when she is tired and needs a calm activity. As a helper, you should be present and support and guide her if she experiences sensory stimuli that become too much and help her calm down when she is about to become exhausted.

Working hours and amount

An assistant is sought to start as soon as possible for up to 8 hours per week.

The working hours will be 4 hours on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 14:00 as well as Mondays and Fridays 2 hours at a time at times agreed with the family. The times on Mondays and Fridays will primarily be during daytime, but evening shifts can also occur. There can also be individual shifts on weekends.

The family is also open to 2 x per week

About you

You are perhaps a pedagogue or an unskilled helper and have relevant experience.

You are present and can create calm.

You are supportive and caring.

You are up for outdoor activities as well as indoor crafts.

You perhaps like animals, and maybe you also like horses.
