About the job

Because we have a problem, we still need new colleagues.

We have colleagues who have retired, had babies, gone away to study, or felt like trying something new. Therefore we currently need some new colleagues.

We think ourselves that we have the best bed department, but we also know that we are not for everyone. Therefore we have chosen to give you a job advertisement that was written by your perhaps future colleagues. We would like to tell you what it is actually like to work at MSA.

Some days are busy, so busy that you think “I’ll never get home today...”

Some patients are easy, while other patients require you to stand with a colleague and say: “What do you see?” or “What do you think?”.

But…

We can promise you that you will not be alone.

Because that is perhaps one of the most important things at MSA.

When you don’t know, there is always someone you can ask.

When you can’t, your colleagues are there to teach you it.

When the patient is complicated, there is a colleague you can bring in.

When you need an extra set of eyes or hands, you’ll get it.

And when the day has been completely insane, there is someone in the staff room who understands exactly what you mean.

We can promise you a bed ward with specialties that ensure you never feel there is nothing more to learn, while you get specialties that enable you to work wherever you want after just a couple of years, if that is your wish. We simply do not promise that you will be able to do everything from day one. MSA is a place where you can gain lifelong learning and development.

And then there are the colleagues you can expect to have. They aren’t that smart either. Imagine that they keep showing up day after day, year after year. When you hear the conversations in the staff room, you can honestly doubt whether they are well-educated people. There is loud laughing, lots of candy and cake eaten to near health-harming levels. Here big and small things are discussed. We talk about recipes. We talk about training, we talk about family, Tinder dates, planning of birthdays and much more.

There is room for humor. Also the dark and the skewed humor. You will get colleagues you go on pub crawls with, have Friday drinks with, go to the cinema with, or go for walks with. You can make friends who show up for morning songs when you celebrate your copper wedding. For who wouldn’t want colleagues you can laugh and cry with, celebrate small successes with, and share your frustrations with?

We believe that you can be professional, caring, and professionally serious – and at the same time have a lot of fun together.

We feel the sense of belonging when the difficult patient journeys are discussed in the office, when you need help sending yet another sample as prescribed by one of the infectious disease specialists.

Our three specialties (geriatrics, endocrinology, and infections) are very different and therefore we have very different patient journeys. Journeys that require very different things from us.

We have a patient with a simple complaint, where everything is by the book. Easy to treat, easy to discharge – something we as a rule can usually handle ourselves.

Our geriatric patients often require a little more, and some of it cannot be read in a book; you have to learn by working with it in everyday life, with the patients and in the community with colleagues.

It is exciting, fun, frustrating and sometimes completely crazy work.

But most of all it is rewarding.

You can quickly learn the basics – insert a venous cannula, give blood, set up High Flow, insert a catheter, teach patients how to measure blood sugar and take insulin. Yes, okay, perhaps these aren’t completely basic things, but perhaps you understand the point – it quickly becomes basic competencies.

So if we haven’t scared you away yet, here is the practical part

  • Permanent position at 37 hours/week.
  • Start as soon as possible
  • Weekend work every 2nd or every 3rd week.
  • Mixed shifts – either day and evening shifts or day and night shifts.
  • Opportunity for great influence on your own work schedule – MinPlan.
  • Holidays allocated according to a points system.
  • Summer vacation allocated in common.
  • You must have good oral and written Danish skills.
  • Danish nursing authorization.

We look forward to hearing from you.
