About the job

Are you interested in working with young people and adults with autism and various co-occurring conditions in a job where you take responsibility, influence, and the opportunity to put your professional expertise to use? BOAS Valby is looking for a social consultant

Now your working life can gain new motivation. In BOAS Valby, which is a department under The Social Development Fund, we are looking for a social consultant for a permanent full-time position in a residential facility. You will become part of a work community where we place emphasis on high professionalism, close sparring, and taking good care of each other.

The position starts on January 1, 2027.

BOAS Valby is a rising living community at Vigerslevvej, where we offer training, learning and development programs with the aim of strengthening the individual’s competencies so that the young person or adult with autism has the opportunity to live a life with as much self-determination as possible.

Our residents either come directly from home and need to learn to live in their own housing, or they come from other services. What they have in common is that they need support to develop their opportunities to master everyday life and create the life they want.

We are approved for 23 places under the Social Services Act, § 107.

A homely residential community

As a social consultant you will be an important part of the residents’ daily lives. You work both in their homes, in our common areas and in the local community. Your main task is to help create a safe and developmental environment where each individual feels met, understood and taken seriously.

You become the contact person for 4-5 residents and provide daily support, where you work purposefully to strengthen the individual’s ability to handle psychological and social challenges. You closely follow the resident, identify development opportunities, and help translate them into concrete goals and actions.

At the same time you will have a coordinating role, where you collaborate with relatives, municipalities and other relevant partners. You will therefore use both your relational skills, your professional expertise and your ability to create overview.

As a social consultant you plan your own work within the department’s framework. You must therefore enjoy self-leadership and taking responsibility for both your own and the collective task solving. We help each other, spar with each other and actively use each other’s diverse professionalities.

We do not operate according to a classic 9-5 principle. We are available 24/7, and you will also have fixed evenings and weekends. The position thus entails a on-call commitment.

Many people experience this way of working as a special combination of responsibility, freedom and flexibility. You have a 24-hour phone and plan your work day largely yourself. This makes it possible to be close to the residents when they need you, while at the same time having a great influence on how you solve your tasks.

Therefore, it is important that you also privately have support and understanding for a job where you are on call and have the phone on.

We expect that you

  • have a basic education at minimum bachelor level, such as e.g. pedagogue, social worker, occupational therapist or another relevant background
  • can express yourself clearly and precisely in writing and have experience with documentation and pedagogical action plans
  • have experience collaborating with relatives, municipalities and social and health authorities
  • are curious about people and focused on understanding and developing your professional skills in contact with our target group

It is a requirement that you have a driving license and your own car.

What you get

  • a warm and engaged collegial community where we both prioritise professional sparring and care for each other
  • ongoing supervision and the opportunity to participate in professional and social forums across departments in The Social Development Fund
  • good employment terms based on a collective agreement with SL and DS

When we read your application, we are happy when it clearly communicates

  • who you are, and what you stand for personally and professionally
  • what you value in a good collaboration
  • which experiences you bring with you, and how they can be used with us

You do not need to know everything from the start. The most important is that you are curious, engaged and want to be part of a work community where we together create the best possibilities for the residents.
