About the job

Do you want to help young people get closer to education or work? Do you have a flair for CVs, applications and job searching, and are you motivated by seeing young people succeed in the labor market? Then you may be our new youth advisor in Herlev Municipality.

We are seeking an engaged youth advisor for a maternity leave cover, starting 1 December 2026 and lasting until the end of October 2027.

You will be part of a team that works with young people up to and including 29 years old and has a shared focus on helping young people progress toward education, employment and a more independent adult life. We are part of Ungeløftet, where the ambition is to get more young people into communities, education and work and to ensure that more young people have the opportunity to find their path.

As a youth advisor you will be part of an effort where you both handle authority tasks and have a close, hands-on contact with the young people about their path to education or work. An important part of your task will be to support the young people in their job search – including identifying competencies and job preferences, preparing a sharp CV and writing targeted applications.

You must be able to see the possibilities in each young person’s experiences and competencies – even when they do not immediately appear clearly on paper. You should also have an eye for the labor market and be able to translate the young person’s competencies and wishes into concrete job opportunities.

Part of the job will also be to support the young person in contacting companies, prepare for job interviews and follow up on the job search. It is about helping the young person to navigate the job search themselves and take the steps that bring them closer to the labor market.

As a youth advisor you will also be responsible for the authority task regarding the youths. This means you must be able to work in a structured way with case processing, follow-up and documentation, while also building a good and trustful relationship with the young person.

We believe that the path to work and education is not the same for everyone. Therefore, we work from the individual young person’s situation, resources and wishes. You must be able to balance asking for clear requirements and at the same time provide the support that makes it possible for the young person to succeed.

You will be part of a team where we work closely together and actively use each other’s professional skills. We place emphasis on sparring, shared responsibility and finding solutions that make sense for the young person.

Your personal and professional competences

  • You are educated as a social worker, social messenger or have another relevant social-professional education.
  • You have experience with authority work and preferably with the employment area.
  • You have a flair for CVs, applications and job searching and can translate a young person’s experiences and competencies into a targeted job search.
  • You have an interest in the labor market and can see opportunities for the individual young person across industries and job areas.
  • You are good at motivating and supporting young people to take responsibility for their own job search.
  • You can work in a structured and systematic way with case handling, follow-up and documentation.
  • You can create a trusting relationship with the young person, while being clear about goals, possibilities and requirements.
  • You can collaborate with both young people, companies and colleagues across professional areas.
  • You have good written and oral communication skills and can express yourself clearly and precisely.
  • You thrive in a day-to-day where tasks are varied, and where you must be able to work independently as well as be part of a close team

Your everyday life with us

  • A meaningful job where you help make a concrete difference for young people on the way to education or employment.
  • A combination of authority work, employment-related sparring and concrete help with CV and job searching.
  • Close contact with young people, companies and partners.
  • Opportunity to use your competencies within job searching, CV and outreach in a very concrete way.
  • A professional environment with good opportunities for sparring and development.
  • A team with commitment, humor and room to grow.
  • Opportunity to help translate the ambitions of Ungeløftet into concrete practice for young people in Herlev.
