Targeted

What does it mean?

Targeted (målrettet) describes a focused approach: identifying specific employers, roles and sectors matching your profile and investing effort in tailored applications and networking there.

Targeted search contrasts with unfocused mass applications. Research shows tailored applications with network contact yield higher interview rates than generic bulk applying.

Build a target list: 20–30 companies, key contacts on LinkedIn, sector events and specialist recruiters. Customise CV and cover letter for each priority application.

Job centres and a-kasser may ask for a targeted job search plan (målrettet jobsøgning) documenting your focus sectors and weekly activities — prepare this proactively.
