Supplementary unemployment benefits
What does it mean?
Supplementary unemployment benefits (supplerende dagpenge) let benefit recipients work part-time while receiving partial dagpenge, subject to hour and income limits set by law and a-kasse rules.
All work hours and wages must be reported promptly. Exceeding limits stops supplementary status and may require repayment. Availability for additional work must generally remain.
Useful for gradual return to labour market, retaining skills and supplementing income. Plan with a-kasse adviser to optimise hours without sanctions.
