About the job

Are you passionate about meeting young people where they are – and about creating change through relationships, trust, and collaboration? Then you’re in luck, because we have 2 vacant positions in the youth area

In the Youth Area we work closely with the lives of young people and in collaboration with their networks. We believe that relationships make a difference, and that the best solutions are created together – with the young person, the family, and our partners.

We are looking for 2 engaged youth counselors for permanent 37-hour positions with start as soon as possible or by December 1, 2026.

About the Youth Area and the target group

The Youth Area is part of the organization in Children and Prevention, where all young people from 14 to 23 years are gathered in one common area. We work with young people who are in very different life situations – from those who struggle with internal difficulties such as anxiety, depression, school avoidance, low self-esteem, and self-harm, to those who exhibit more outwardly reactive or high-risk behavior, e.g. substance abuse, crime, social control, honor-related conflicts, or affiliation with UKN.

This means that we cover broad and complex issues, and our work ranges from preventive actions to placements and close collaboration in the most serious cases.

Tasks include all authorities tasks under the Child Act – including assessments, child welfare investigations, interventions, placements, and follow-ups.

We have a particular focus on transitions – both from child to adolescent and from adolescent to adult life. And we work closely with the family, the network, and relevant partners.

We offer you

  • A permanent position in an area with specialized knowledge about young people in vulnerable positions
  • Close professional sparring with colleagues, professional coordinators and the manager
  • External supervision and ongoing professional development
  • Thorough introduction and clear workflows
  • A high level of trust in professionalism and responsibility
  • Flexibility and the possibility of self-organization in everyday life
  • A strong collegial community, high professionalism and good humor
  • A close and cross-disciplinary collaboration with, among others, outpatient treatment interventions, school, UU, PPR, police, the employment sector, substance abuse treatment, and other actors

We expect that you

  • Are educated as a child and youth counselor (social worker)
  • Have experience or strong interest in working with young people with complex life circumstances or young people and families in vulnerable positions
  • Can balance the relationship and the authority role – and build trust, while clearly standing in your professional position
  • Work systematically, reflectively and relationally – also in pressured situations
  • Actively use your professional judgment with a view to both change and value for the young person
  • Can bring the young person’s voice, hopes and network into play, and work to strengthen communities and relationships around the young person
  • Meet children, young people and families with openness, curiosity and respect
  • Collaborate and share responsibility across professions, departments and interventions
  • Have clear, respectful and trust-building communication – both internally and externally
  • Want to be part of a workplace where we share knowledge and develop practice together
