Aarhus municipality seeks a hourly substitute for a 13-year-old girl on the autism spectrum.

The girl attends a special school. She is a happy, trusting and creative girl. She is impulse-driven and needs close adult contact and guidance throughout the day and in all activities. When she is motivated for an activity, she can manage to immerse herself for longer periods. She has a visual learning style, which means that communication can be supported and activities prepared by using pictures - cards, etc. Time is set aside for a good onboarding so she becomes comfortable with the hourly substitute.

The family has successfully had a hourly substitute before.

She likes to draw, play Mario and is focused on creative processes on computer/tablet, she also loves drawing and making with beads. She also really wants to be outdoors and play, she is motorically skilled. She must be supervised at all times, as she has no sense of danger and dangerous traffic.

Working hours and tasks

Your task as hourly substitute with the family consists of companionship, care and activities with the girl.

The job is on average 8 hours per week = 35 hours per month. Planning is done for a month at a time. It is primarily 2 fixed weekday afternoons from 16:00 – 19/20:00 (not Friday). There may also be occasional weekend days - Sundays. Remaining hours are planned depending on the family's activities.

Who are you?

• A warm, empathetic, calm and independent person is sought, preferably with pedagogical experience and knowledge of autism, including the need for a known structure (predictability) and a low arousal approach.
• You are reliable and keep your commitments.
• There is a need that you can work weekday afternoons.
• See yourself in the position for a longer time – minimum 1 year employment.
• Important that you have a genuine interest in getting to know the girl and creating a good and secure relationship.

This is a municipal hire as a paid hourly substitute (option for payment as a pedagogue if you have a teacher education). This means you must be approved by a social worker from Team Replacement,

A criminal record and child protection clearance will be obtained.

The job is to be filled as soon as possible.

The target group – purpose of hourly replacement

The purpose of hourly replacement is to relieve the parents of a child with reduced physical – or mental function.

The municipality offers hourly replacement when the need arises solely due to the child's functional limitations and when the replacement is done in consideration of the rest of the family.

Salary and terms of employment

The hourly wage is

• Normal hours: 145.97 kroner/hour (weekdays until 17:00)
• Early shifted service: 31.55 kroner/hour (allowance on weekdays after 17:00)
• Saturday allowance: 38.19 kroner/hour
• Weekend allowance: 70.33 kroner/hour
• On-call allowance: 109.48 kroner/hour

There is the possibility to be paid with salary as skilled worker if you have a pedagogical education.
