About the job

Are you eager to be a leader in a growing municipality with high ambitions, where you can influence development closely with residents and staff, and where there is a short path from words to action? Then you now have the opportunity to become the elderly center leader at Suldrup Elderly Center.

We are looking for a visible and engaged leader who will lead Suldrup Elderly Center, together with talented staff, dedicated volunteers and a local community that strongly supports the house.

About the position

Suldrup Elderly Center currently resides at Mastruplund in Støvring. Following a fire in June 2025, all residents were relocated to Mastruplund. Despite the changed premises, the staff have managed to create continuity, security and high quality in daily life for the residents.

As the elderly center leader at Suldrup Elderly Center you will be a central part of the development and rebuilding of a new elderly center in Suldrup with occupancy in 2029. You will have a special opportunity to set the direction for the new Suldrup Elderly Center and contribute to building a culture characterized by trust, shared responsibility, high professionalism and a strong community among residents, relatives and staff.

Your task will be to navigate safely in the balance between daily operations, quality, economy and development. It requires that you can see the connection between high professionalism and responsible financial management and that you can create frameworks where both succeed.

Suldrup Elderly Center is one of two free-standing elderly centers in Rebild Municipality. It gives you and the staff the opportunity to try new approaches, challenge established workflows and create solutions close to residents’ needs.

The temporary Suldrup Elderly Center at Mastruplund has space for 23 residents. When the new Suldrup Elderly Center opens there will be space for 30 residents.

At the center there are about 20 staff with a broad professional range including house assistants, social- and health care helpers, social- and health care assistants and students.

Suldrup Elderly Center also houses a designated day center for homebound citizens with reduced functioning. The day center is open five days a week and contributes to supporting citizens’ physical, mental and social skills through activities and communities. As the elderly center leader you will therefore also be responsible for the day center’s operations, quality and ongoing development.

Your role as elderly center leader

You are passionate about the core task and good at creating the best conditions for residents, relatives and staff through an inclusive and trust-based leadership style.

You are responsible for ensuring that the elderly center delivers care and support of high professional quality based on Rebild Municipality’s values and ambitions.

You manage to mobilize employees’ competencies and engagement through visible and hands-on leadership. You are there where the staff are, and you see the value of close collaboration with both relatives and volunteers.

You have warmth and humor, a good heart, and you meet residents, relatives, staff and partners with respect and integrity.

You will become part of the management team in Center Care and Welfare and report to the Center Director. Here you will work closely with your fellow managers and contribute to creating coherence across the center’s areas.

As elderly center leader you will, among other things, have responsibility for

  • The overall professional, operational and personnel responsibility.
  • To support a good physical and psychological working environment.
  • To ensure well-being, job satisfaction and professional development among staff.
  • To ensure visible and clear frameworks and guidelines.
  • To comply with the elderly center’s budget and ensure responsible use of resources.
  • To develop the elderly center in collaboration with staff, residents and relatives.
  • To ensure cross-cutting and organizational oversight.
  • To support the implementation of the new Elderly Act and the work with holistic care.

Future elderly care

We work purposefully to translate the Elderly Act’s intentions into practice.

This means, among other things, a focus on

  • The elderly’s self-determination.
  • Trust in staff and resident-facing leadership.
  • Close collaboration with relatives, local communities and civil society.

The goal is to create a dialogue- and development-based collaboration culture characterized by trust, openness and safety.

There is already a plan for implementation and learning, and you will play an important role in ensuring that the development is translated into meaningful practice at Suldrup Elderly Center.

Who are you?

Perhaps you have a health professional background such as nurse, social- and health care assistant or equivalent.

You have leadership experience and preferably a managerial qualification. If you do not already have a managerial qualification, we look positively on supporting your continued competence development.

In addition, we emphasize that you

  • Have experience with close citizen contact.
  • Are strong at building relationships.
  • Place high importance on collaboration with relatives.
  • Can support and develop collaboration with volunteers.
  • Are visible and present in your leadership.
  • Have impact and the ability to set direction.
  • Work in a structured way and maintain overview in a busy daily life.
  • See opportunities rather than constraints.
  • Dare to lead from the front and make the necessary decisions.

Application and practical information

We look forward to receiving your application no later than 8 November 2026.

First interview is planned for 12 November 2026, and second interview is planned for 24 November 2026.
