About the job

Are you keen to lead the quality of professional work, well-being and development – close to residents, relatives and staff? Then you may be our new daily manager at Amaliehaven's Care Center with a start date of January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

About Amaliehaven

Amaliehaven is a modern care center in Augustenborg with 60 care apartments distributed over five housing units and 20 center-adjacent senior housing in Svanehaven, where we are currently building 18 new apartments, giving us even more opportunities to create coherent and meaningful offerings for seniors in the local area. The facility also houses a day center and activity center, kitchen, cleaning, technical services and center nursing – and we have a strong interaction with volunteers, resident and relative councils and the surrounding local community.

Our vision is: Amaliehaven - a safe home with care, professionalism and quality – together for good everyday life.

Person-centered care is our professional stance. We work based on each resident’s life story, wishes, resources and self-determination. Everyday life is characterized by professional reflection, interdisciplinary collaboration, daily board meetings, resident conferences and close dialogue with relatives.

About the position

You will be part of a close and engaged leadership team with the care center manager and the other daily managers. Your primary area of management will be the housing units Caroline and Frederikke as well as the kitchen and day center. The final task distribution is agreed in the leadership team so we utilise each other’s competencies and ensure coherent management across Amaliehaven as a whole.

Your main tasks

  • Be present, clear, create direction, followership and psychological safety for the staff.
  • Support staff professional development through ongoing sparring, 1:1 conversations, performance development interviews, late-career discussions, team meetings and systematic follow-up.
  • Ensure high quality in care, support, pedagogy, documentation and rehabilitative efforts based on the Elderly Care Act, the dignity policy and the municipality’s service level.
  • Collaborate closely with center nurses, professional leaders and other professional groups on board meetings, resident conferences, early detection and good resident pathways.
  • Create secure transitions at move-in and ensure an open, respectful and trustful dialogue with residents and relatives, via move-in conversations and annual relative conversations
  • Plan and prioritize resources with attention to both professional quality, economy, operations, continuity and staff well-being.
  • Shift planning, sick leave, work environment, work injuries and relevant action plans in collaboration with AMR, TR and the leadership team.
  • Carry out leadership oversight and translate data, observations and professional discussions into concrete improvements in practice.
  • Actively contribute to the development of Amaliehaven as an attractive workplace and to an active interaction with volunteers and the local community.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a relevant health professional education and preferably leadership experience or solid experience with coordinating and managerial tasks.
  • Has a relevant leadership education – or is motivated to complete a diploma in leadership.
  • Is academically grounded, curious and able to make clear decisions on a well-informed basis.
  • Communicates clearly, appreciatively and respectfully – also when the task is complex or requires difficult prioritizations.
  • Can motivate, delegate and follow up so that responsibility and initiative come close to the resident.
  • Has a view for both people, details and the whole and follows tasks through to the end.
  • Sees interdisciplinary collaboration as a prerequisite for succeeding with the core task.
  • Is present, maintains an overview and contributes constructively when we need to find solutions together.

We offer

  • A meaningful leadership job with the opportunity to make a noticeable difference for residents, relatives and staff.
  • A leadership team that makes each other look good, shares knowledge and moves together when the task requires it.
  • Committed and competent staff with a focus on the core task and a desire to develop.
  • A thorough introduction with side-by-side learning and access to Sønderborg Municipality’s onboarding for new leaders.
  • Opportunity for leadership education and ongoing professional and personal development.
  • Bright, modern and homely surroundings, an active house and a strong community around Amaliehaven.

Employment terms

The position starts from January 1, 2027 or by agreement. Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local wage formation. A criminal record check will be obtained prior to employment.
