About the job

Are you focused on learning and teaching, and would you like to contribute to good clinical education of upcoming occupational therapists?

We are looking for an engaged clinical instructor in occupational therapy who is keen to work with educating students at an acute hospital. The position is 37 hours per week with a start on January 1, 2027.

About the position and about us

Do you have good collaboration skills, an overview, and do you thrive in coordinating in a field between students, patients, colleagues, other partners and Absalon University College? Then you have the opportunity to become part of a large dynamic team in the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Department at Zealand University Hospital in Roskilde. We can offer a professional department with a high level of expertise, exciting specialities & tasks, and a positive collaborative atmosphere.

You will become part of a clinical teaching group that, in addition to you, consists of a clinical instructor in Physiotherapy (KUF) in Roskilde, a KUF in Køge and a KUF at Nykøbing Falster Hospital, who collaborate on and develop the clinical teaching at SUH. In addition, we have a substitute for clinical instructor in occupational therapy, who is also a good sparring partner. In daily work you coordinate the clinical teaching programs in close cooperation with your therapy colleagues. In addition, you will be part of the network of clinical instructors affiliated with Absalon University College.

Your main tasks will be to plan, hold, evaluate and develop internship programs for occupational therapy students, including patient-focused tasks, as well as participating in clinical exams. In periods where you do not have students, you will handle patient work. It may be in different specialties, depending on what makes sense to ensure that tasks are coordinated in the department, and so that you can maintain your clinical competencies.

We expect you to apply your pedagogical competences in the department. That you actively contribute to the further development of future occupational therapy at the acute hospital and to our learning culture, which is characterized by feedback, daily professional sparring and a desire for professional support and development in a communal setting.

We have a Clinical Future Unit that helps create a good development and research environment in the department in collaboration with specialty leads, clinical instructors, occupational therapists and physiotherapists and leaders.

We are seeking an occupational therapist who

  • has the ability and willingness to collaborate with students, colleagues, patients and relatives as well as internal and external partners, including Absalon University College
  • has broad clinical experience (min. 2 years) and would like to bring their own practice into play and be a role model for students
  • has experience with clinical teaching and wishes to further develop clinical teaching at SUH
  • contributes to a developing learning environment in the department
  • seeks new knowledge and applies it to students
  • has good overview, works independently and contributes constructively to problem solving
  • is welcoming, curious, reflective and open to sparring and learning
  • has further education in learning, pedagogy and/or communication, preferably at diploma or master level, at minimum Clinical Supervisor training.

About the future and the practicalities

The Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy SUH as of 1.1.2027 consists of three campuses in Roskilde, Køge and Nykøbing Falster, with roughly 50, roughly 30 and just under 30 occupational therapists and physiotherapists employed respectively. In Roskilde we are 19 occupational therapists and 32 physiotherapists, distributed in two groups. We collaborate on task solving across specialties and departments for the benefit of the patients.

In January 2028 we will move together with our occupational and physiotherapist colleagues from Køge to the super hospital in Køge. You should therefore be able to envision yourself as part of the exciting process we are already preparing for – what will be new, where we physically move, and where we will work with activity during hospitalization in new modern frameworks for patient pathways.

If you would like to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact Chief Occupational Therapist Susanne Sønderup at telephone 23 32 62 07.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 17.11.
