Geelsgårdskolen is a highly specialized holistic offering for children and young people with complex physical, mental and sensory impairments. With us you will be part of a school with high didactic and treatment ambitions, where we together make a difference for some very wonderful children.

Our students' cognitive levels are very diverse, therefore our teaching is also very different from many other special provisions. We are looking for you who are a trained teacher, and it is a plus if you have experience with special education, preferably within autism spectrum disorders or similar issues.

Your everyday life as a teacher at Geelsgårdskolen

As a teacher at Geelsgårdskolen you will work in a fixed team with a small group of students, where there is time for relationship-building and in-depth work with the individual student.

You will work on didaktizing the academic content, setting goals in the communication books for all subjects/areas and preparing annual plans. You will also be responsible for developing relevant teaching activities for the students in collaboration with other teachers and pedagogues. The teaching activities are framed in the P-scales and/or according to UVM’s curricula in accordance with the nearest possible curriculum regardless of age/grade level. We work, among other things, based on the principles of neuro-pedagogy, total communication and low arousal.

As a teacher you are also involved in taking care of the students' personal care, administering medication as well as helping them to eat and drink .

A strong interdisciplinary community

We are a holistic offering with all professions in the same house – and as a teacher you are involved in safeguarding the students' comprehensive development. Therefore you also participate in close interdisciplinary collaboration with other teachers, pedagogues, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, speech therapists, didactic mentors, pedagogical mentors, nurses and psychologists. You work together in interdisciplinary teams around the individual student, where you share responsibility that the jointly planned actions and focus areas are consistent for the student.

We welcome both new graduates and experienced teachers

Because our students have very different abilities, challenges and needs, we use many different approaches and creative teaching that tailor to the individual. We do not expect you to know all methods and approaches from the start. If everything is new to you but you have curiosity and willingness to learn, we would love to welcome you.

All new colleagues receive support and training in an extensive onboarding program, and during your employment you will continuously participate in courses and continuing education.

We offer 37 hours per week with employment from January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible. Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement between the Regions' Løn- og Takstnævn and the Danish Teachers’ Association as well as the Ny Løn principles.
