About the job

We have 1 vacant nursing position as of January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter, in a specialty that is always developing.

The position is 37 hours/week or by agreement - in mixed shifts, and with weekend shifts every 3rd weekend.

Organisationally, the Oncology Department is a large department with several treatment units consisting of: us (the wards), outpatient clinics, radiotherapy, Palliative Team and Palliative Ward.

We are divided into six diagnosis-related teams, and you will be connected to one of these teams.

As a nurse in the department you will encounter many exciting nursing-related issues, as we have curative, palliative and terminal courses as well as acute pathways.

We have our own acute receiving function around the clock, through which the majority of our patients are admitted. You will have a great opportunity to develop your personal, communicative and professional competencies, and there is also room for you to delve further into specific oncological issues.

As preparation for NYE OUH, the allied ward in spring 2025 has physically moved together with the Oncological Ward, which means we have close collaboration with the staff in the Palliative Ward and a great opportunity to develop palliative competences as a nurse in the Oncology Department.

We are a mixed group of nurses and social and health care assistants with levels from novice to expert, and there is room for everyone regardless of experience. We will take good care of you as a newly hired staff and help you settle safely and well in the position.

In addition to plenty of laughter and good colleagues, we can also offer you

  • An exciting and varied specialty that is in constant development
  • Introduction and training with a mentor
  • Oncology school with specialty topics
  • Medical cancer treatment
  • Colleague sparring
  • Course days in SimC
  • Good collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues, such as doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians, etc.
  • A good working environment with social events, e.g. after-work beer, cafe visits, etc.

Employment terms

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be told the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in Health Union - Collective Agreement 32.17.

In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

We look forward to hearing from you. If you would like a chat or a tour beforehand, you are welcome to contact Chief Nurse Janne Hammer at phone number 6541 5222 or Union Representative Sandy Christensen at phone number 29219950.
