Are you particularly interested in patients with non-psychotic disorders? Then Psykiatrisk Center Amager is looking for you as a consultant for an intensive 24/7 ward.

Welcome to the non-psychosis 24-hour unit Psychiatric Center Amager has consolidated the treatment of patients with “non-psychosis” disorders, i.e. affective disorders, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and anxiety disorders in a specialized intensive 24-hour unit.

Unit D1 has 15 intensive beds. The unit focuses on CAT and DAT environmental therapy, minimizing the use of all forms of coercion, including by expanding competencies within the target group through continuing education and ongoing courses. The position is intended to be filled as a senior physician without unit leadership.

The unit has a close collaboration with the open unit with 16 beds with the same target group, which is located as a neighbor. We expect that multidisciplinary staff, physicians and a specialist psychologist will cross work to a certain extent to create continuity in the pathways. Close collaboration with relevant outpatient clinics in FACT with the same target group is expected.

The unit also has patients admitted with psychosis, as the patient base in the catchment area for “non-psychosis” disorders constitutes about 2/3 of the capacity of the 24-hour unit.

What tasks will you have? Clinical tasks

• Daily reviews of new patients in collaboration with the YL (younger physicians) day-to-day.
• Carry out focused assessment, treatment, and possible referral to other treatment options
• Set the environmental-therapeutic direction – the unit emphasizes CAT and DAT, so experience with this is an advantage. Otherwise we are happy to provide training in this.
• Supervision of YL’s rounds and ward rounds
• Supervision of multidisciplinary staff
• Close multidisciplinary cooperation with municipal actors in collaboration with the unit’s fixed social worker

As a senior physician you will lead the patient pathways in the units. The position does not include unit leadership, but we expect you to collaborate on medical development in the unit with the chief nurse.

About us in Unit D1 Unit D1 consists of a chief nurse, nurses, assistants, pedagogues, an occupational therapist, a psychologist, a social worker and a medical secretary. There is good collaboration across the building, both between units and within the medical team.

D1 is a new unit with many new staff, so you should be willing to help build competencies in the multidisciplinary staff group.

Salary and employment terms The position is 37 hours per week with commencement on 1/3-2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is on-call. You will participate either in night on-call or Senior Doctor on Front (SIF) with an expected 2-3 shifts from 15:30-20:00 monthly, as well as every other weekend.

You will be employed according to the agreement for senior doctors, including the agreement’s provisions on working hours (As a senior doctor in the Capital Region Psychiatry you are on-call).

The region is a 24/7 area, and you may, according to concrete need, be scheduled for shifts at other times in accordance with the rules in the applicable working time agreement/working time regulations in the agreement.

About Psychiatric Center Amager

Psychiatric Center Amager is part of Amager and Hvidovre Hospital. The center covers an intake area that, except for Christianshavn, covers the entire Amager and Vesterbro including Sydhavnen. The population is about 260,000 inhabitants with expected further growth. The center has 9 24-hour units with a total of 129 beds spread across five intensive and four open, subspecialized units. Outpatient treatment is provided in two psychiatric outpatient clinics at Hans Bogbinders Allé and Gl.

Kongevej and in the Psychotherapeutic and Geriatric Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic, located at Digevej. In addition, we have a Street Team, OPUS Outpatient Clinic and a supported housing team.

Psychiatric Center Amager is a university hospital with educational and teaching activity as well as a Research Unit. The center is classified for training doctors in all employment categories including clinical basic training (KBU), specialty doctor in general medicine, and for introductory and main training positions in psychiatry, and for training of clinical psychologists. The center conducts student teaching of medical students in their 10th semester at the University of Copenhagen.
