About the job

Are you the type who can both hold on to professional standards and see the person behind the case?

Can you make a professional decision, even when it isn’t what the citizen had hoped for – and at the same time make the citizen feel seen and heard?

Then maybe it’s you we’re looking for.

We are seeking two area visitators for full-time positions in Visitationen.

With us you will be part of a professionally strong and interdisciplinary group of 18 staff, of which 9 are area visitators. We work with authority in the elderly and health sector, and our everyday life is characterized by great variation, professional discussions and close collaboration.

A position with both breadth and depth

As an area visitator you will speak with many citizens and help coordinate their paths. You must be able to see the whole person while maintaining the authoritative, statutory perspective.

That means you must be able to make a concrete and professional assessment of the citizen’s needs, make decisions and follow up on whether the help granted is still appropriate.

You will work with both new applications, follow-up and revisits. Part of the task also involves assessing the citizen’s need for assistive devices. This means you must be able to assess the citizen’s functional level and match with the right product. If you are curious about assistive devices, that’s a plus.

You will have many conversations with citizens, relatives and partners. You must therefore be able to listen, ask the right questions and at the same time dare to make the decision your professional assessment points to.

A daily life in change

If you thrive best when everything is fixed and you know exactly how your workday will look in a year, this may not be the place for you to apply.

Visitationen and the entire elderly and health sector are undergoing change. We are in the middle of implementing the new Elderly Act, while the health reform will change tasks, organization and collaboration interfaces.

That means our daily work can change quickly too. You must be able to see the opportunities in that.

You will be part of a politically steered organization, where decisions and priorities at the political level can affect our daily work. It requires that you can navigate a reality where professionalism, legislation, finances, political decisions and citizens’ needs must go hand in hand.

In return you get the opportunity to be involved as things develop – and to influence how we solve our tasks going forward.

Who are you?

Maybe you are already a visitator. Maybe you currently work somewhere else, but would like to try your hand at the authority role.

The most important is that you have a relevant professional background and a desire to work with authority in the elderly and health sector.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant health-professional education – preferably occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
  • have experience with or interest in authority work and/or assistive devices
  • can work independently and in a structured way
  • have good communication and relational skills
  • see collaboration as a professional skill
  • can stand behind your professional assessments – even when the decision is not what the citizen had hoped for
  • are keen on professional sparring and to contribute to our shared professional knowledge.

But we are also open to the right candidate looking different.

For us it is more important that you have the right professional approach and the desire to work with authority than that you can check off every single point.

What do you get with us?

You will have the opportunity to work independently on your own cases, but with colleagues around you with whom you can spar.

You will have a daily life with variation, professional challenges and the opportunity to develop – and you will become part of a group where we value both professionalism and well-being.

And you will have colleagues who want you to join in.
