About the job

Do you want to help lead and develop a highly specialized interdisciplinary pain center, where the patient's overall life situation is central? The Interdisciplinary Pain Center is seeking a dedicated and development-oriented assistant chief nurse for a permanent position.

As the assistant chief nurse, you will become a central part of the management in a highly specialized outpatient offering for people with chronic, complex pains. Together with the head nurse and the chief physician you will help to ensure high professional quality, support development and create the best framework for both patients and staff.

You will be an important collaborative partner for the head nurse and will act as deputy in case of absence. The role therefore provides the opportunity to work closely with clinical practice while also taking on leadership tasks and development initiatives.

About the Interdisciplinary Pain Center The Interdisciplinary Pain Center is part of the Department of Anesthesia, Pain and Respiratory Support under the Neurocenter at Rigshospitalet. We treat patients with chronic, complex non-malignant pains and work from a bio-psycho-social understanding of pain, where the person is viewed in their overall life situation rather than solely through the physical symptoms.

We are a highly specialized outpatient offering with about 30 staff. Nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers and healthcare administration staff work closely together to create meaningful and coherent patient pathways. We also have a strong research environment and collaborate across Rigshospitalet's specialities.

Our culture is characterized by high professionalism, reflection, curiosity and a desire to develop. At the same time, we work purposefully to develop our organization, patient offerings and workflows based on the ambitions for the Future Outpatient Clinic.

Your responsibilities In close collaboration with the head nurse you will, among other things:

  • Contribute to the daily management of the center's staff and operations
  • Serve as deputy for the head nurse in case of absence
  • Support high quality and coherence in patient pathways and treatment offerings
  • Participate in the clinical daily life and be a role model for good clinical practice
  • Contribute to development and implementation of new work processes and quality initiatives
  • Contribute to planning, capacity management and resource use
  • Support a good working environment and a strong culture of collaboration
  • Engage in interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaborations
  • Contribute to the work with the Future Outpatient Clinic and other strategic development initiatives
  • Participate in relevant leadership and development tasks as agreed.

We are looking for you who

  • Is a trained nurse with solid clinical experience
  • Has leadership experience or the desire and potential to develop into a leadership role
  • Has experience with or interest in outpatient specialized treatment
  • Thrives in an interdisciplinary environment and sees the strength of cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Has understanding of or experience with the bio-psycho-social approach to people with chronic pain
  • Works in a structured way and can maintain overview in a complex daily life
  • Is development-oriented and motivated to create improvements in collaboration with others
  • Has knowledge of shift and resource management, preferably Optima
  • Communicates clearly, appreciatively and respectfully
  • Is listening and trustworthy in your approach and at the same time ready to take on leadership responsibility
  • Is aware of your own strengths and development areas and dares to challenge yourself professionally and in leadership.

We offer

  • A permanent leadership position in a highly specialized clinical area
  • A central role in the ongoing development of the Interdisciplinary Pain Center
  • A strong and well-functioning interdisciplinary leadership team
  • A professionally ambitious environment with engaged and competent colleagues
  • Close sparring with the head nurse and the center's other management
  • Opportunity for both professional and leadership development
  • An work environment characterized by respect, humor, reflection and high professionalism
