About the job

Do you want to help make a difference in the country\'s schools?

DVF is seeking an assistant for our school project

Are you good at communicating, and would you like to engage children and young people in topics such as food, climate, biodiversity and health? Are you a student or recent graduate looking for a flexible job where you can use your expertise, develop your skills and make a difference?

Then you may be the assistant we are seeking to dedicate about 15 hours per week to the Danish Vegetarian Federation\'s school project “Food for the Future” provisionally until 30 June 2027.

About the job

At DVF we work to promote a more plant-based food culture. Through our school project we visit schools and give students new perspectives on the connections between food, climate, biodiversity and health.

Your primary task will be to give talks and workshops for school students. In addition, you will help contact schools and book new visits. We place a high value on engagement and empathy in this position.

The job combines teaching, dissemination and outreach work. You will have a varied daily life with both school visits and independent work from home. You should be prepared to travel around primarily in Central and Southern Jutland, also to areas with longer travel times.

We will ensure you receive a thorough introduction to the material, so you are well prepared to go out to the schools. During the workshop, the class\'s usual teacher will be present, so you will not be left alone with the students.

Who are you?

Our ideal candidate is a student or recent graduate in fields such as biology, nature and environment, health, education, pedagogy or communication.

We emphasise that you

  • can convey academic topics in a lively, understandable and nuanced way
  • enjoy standing in front of a class and creating dialogue and engagement
  • enjoy talking with schools and teachers
  • can work independently, in a structured way and take initiative
  • are flexible and prepared for travel activity

Experience with teaching, dissemination or working with children and young people is an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you want to develop your communication skills and create good learning experiences for the students.

It is a requirement that you live in Central Jutland, have a driver\'s license and a car available. We prioritise public transport when visiting the schools, but some schools may be difficult to reach by public transport.

We offer

  • Practical experience with teaching, dissemination and facilitating workshops
  • Experience with outreach work, coordination and contact with schools
  • Opportunity to develop your academic and communicative skills
  • A flexible job where you can help inspire children and young people and at the same time have the opportunity to plan your own work to a large extent

Working hours and terms of employment

  • Start date: 1 January 2027. Training will take place online or at our office in Aalborg in week 1.
  • Working hours: 65 hours per month, corresponding to about 15 hours per week. The number of hours may vary from week to week.
  • Place of work: From home and at schools, primarily in Central, Southern and West Jutland
  • Salary: 175 DKK per hour plus 12.5% holiday pay
  • Transport: Public transport reimbursed. Driving in your own car is reimbursed according to DVF\'s current rates. If travel time exceeds one hour each way, the portion that exceeds one hour each way counts as working time
