About the job

Do you want to gain experience in developing and coordinating social initiatives? And would you like to help create meaningful communities for people in vulnerable positions? Then you might be the intern we are looking for for WeShelter's social food clubs!

At WeShelter we work to combat homelessness, loneliness and mental distress. We do this, among other things, through our volunteer efforts in social food clubs, where volunteers and participants meet for cooking, good conversations and a positive community.

We are looking for a curious and engaged intern for our food club team from February to June 2027 , who wants to gain insight into the work of a development consultant in a social NGO.

What will you be working with?

As an intern you will be part of the daily operations and development of our social food clubs. You will work closely with the team’s development consultants and will have the opportunity to both take on independent tasks and participate in larger projects.

Your tasks may include

  • Recruitment of volunteers, including contact and interviews with potential volunteers
  • Starting up new food clubs, where you help coordinate with partners, recruit volunteers and develop materials
  • Planning and coordination of events, e.g., activities and events for our volunteers
  • Development and support of volunteer efforts across WeShelter
  • Practical and administrative tasks that are a natural part of working with social initiatives

Because we work with people, our everyday life is not always predictable. New tasks and needs arise continuously, and you will therefore also have the opportunity to be involved where there is a need for you.

We are also open to tailoring parts of the internship to your interests and competencies.

Who are you?

We imagine that you are currently pursuing a relevant further education, e.g., in the social sciences, sociology, psychology or similar. But we are open to different educational backgrounds.

The most important thing for us is that you

  • Are curious about people and interested in social work, civil society and volunteering
  • Want to take responsibility and try your hand at different tasks
  • Enjoy collaborating with others, but also thrive with independent tasks
  • Have the courage to a daily life where you are in contact with people and solve tasks at the desk

What do we offer you?

With us you have the opportunity to translate your academic knowledge into practice and gain experience with working in a social NGO.

You will become part of an engaged team where there is room for questions, sparring and new ideas. You will gain insight into how we collaborate with volunteers, social offerings and other partners to create communities for people in vulnerable positions.

We place emphasis on giving you the opportunity to develop professionally, take responsibility and put your own mark on some of the tasks along the way.

Practical information

  • Internship period: February to June 2027
  • Working hours: About 30 hours per week with flexibility in relation to studies and possibly a student job
  • Salary: The internship is unpaid
  • Application: We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis

Does this sound like something for you?

Then send your CV and a short motivated application to [email protected].

If you have questions about the internship, you are very welcome to contact development consultant Camille Cederberg at [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you!
