Become an SSA apprentice in Stevns Municipality with start in January 2027

Dreaming of more knowledge, more competencies and more responsibility? Then you now have the opportunity to turn the dream into reality and train to become a social- and health care assistant. You can look forward to a challenging job with great variety, where your tasks depend on the individual citizen's needs and life situation.

You will receive pay during the training and security that you have an internship placement in both the primary, somatic and psychiatric areas. During the education you will receive lots of help and support from our skilled and dedicated advisers. The social- and health care assistant education can open the door to other educations, e.g. nurse, social worker, pedagogue and other intermediate health educations.

You support and help the citizen to be active in their own life

Your most important task is to provide holistic personal care and practical assistance, which entirely depends on the needs of the citizen. In this connection you have a strong focus on the citizen's quality of life and on health promotion and disease prevention. You work with early detection, rehabilitation and initiation of activities that can increase the citizen's quality of life. You will work with handling of medicine, and with professional language and documentation of the performed nursing care.

If we now say engaged, quality-conscious, reliable and good at collaborating?

It is important that you are reliable and engaged, as your work has a very large significance for the citizens you interact with. You are open to learning new things and focused on quality, professionalism and results. As a person you are characterized by being action-oriented, ready to try new things and good at building relationships. You will need your good collaboration skills, because you will collaborate professionally with citizens, relatives and colleagues both cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral.

All the practical

You are qualified to apply for the position when you are in the process of or have completed GF2 SOSU direction, or you are educated as a social- & health helper.

SSA education lasts 34 months if you start directly from GF2 SOSU direction. If on the other hand you are educated as a social- & health helper, you get 6 months credit.

In addition you must have passed 12 hours of first aid and 3 hours of fire fighting course.

Wages according to the applicable collective agreement with FOA.

We would like to note that the application will be processed jointly by the municipalities Stevns, Solrød, Greve and Køge, so that as many applicants as possible can be offered employment. Your training course alternates between school stays and internship. The municipality is your employer throughout the training period.
