About the job

The Financial Supervisory Authority's legal office is looking for one to two experienced lawyers who are interested in legislation work and cross-cutting processes, and who are ready to provide high-quality legal sparring and assistance to the entire organization.

Do you want to work on legislation that matters for society as a whole? Do you want to support good processes and cross-cutting collaboration? Join the team that ensures trust in Denmark's financial sector, and leave your legal mark on future regulation. You will have responsibility, influence and opportunities to develop – together with colleagues who are passionate about making a difference and who are easy to smile and laugh with.

The job

We are seeking one to two experienced lawyers for JURA, the Financial Supervisory Authority's internal legal advisory bureau.

The Financial Supervisory Authority's legal office is, among other things, responsible for coordinating and ensuring the quality of the house's cross-cutting legislative work and for providing legal assistance to the other offices of the Financial Supervisory Authority, the board and the management. A core task of the legal office is to work with financial regulation.

The responsibility for driving the Authority's legislative proposals is distributed among the caseworkers in the office, and you will, as a rule, be continuously involved in the processes around a legislative proposal together with one or more colleagues and in close cooperation with the Ministry of Taxation and Growth. You will find that no two days at the office are the same. Our tasks span a wide range and largely consist of supporting good processes and cross-cutting collaboration.

This means that you will, among other things, have extensive internal contact within the Financial Supervisory Authority, and in many cases also with partners in other agencies.

JURA works in a team-based manner and includes, among others, a criminal law team that handles cases of administrative fines proposals in the area of money laundering, sparrs with the other offices on police reports, self-incrimination, jurisdiction, etc. We also provide sparring to the Authority's other offices on issues within administrative law, GDPR, access to information and the regulation that the offices supervise. JURA also continuously contributes with professional feedback and quality assurance of various products that are part of the daily work.

You will become part of an office with 23 employees, most of whom are lawyers, and you will be linked to teams and fields of expertise depending on competencies and interests. There is good opportunity to move between different teams and tasks. You do not need to know anything about the subject area in advance when you join a team, as long as you are curious to learn.

About you

You have a Master of Law (cand.jur.) or a Master of Mercantile Law (cand.merc.jur.) and want to work with legislation and help others move forward with legal issues.

It is an advantage if you have experience in drafting laws, orders and guidelines, or if you have experience with the legislative process, e.g. from a ministry or an agency. It could also be that you have experience from the financial sector, the consulting industry, a law firm, the prosecution service or a trade association.

We expect that you

  • Have a high professional level and ambitions for your products
  • Can work independently and are willing to take responsibility
  • Can understand complex areas, identify and solve the relevant issues
  • Are curious and want to apply your professional skills together with others across the Financial Supervisory Authority
  • Are detail-oriented, write well and can convey the core of a case clearly and precisely
  • Are process-oriented, keep track of your tasks and move them forward in the process within the deadline
  • Have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the work community

We offer an exciting job with a good working environment

It is important to us that you feel good when you go to work. You will have competent colleagues in an environment where we place a high value on positive mood in the office, including social initiatives in the office as well as in the organization. As a new employee you will be welcomed with a special introductory program, and all your colleagues will be ready to spar with you on your new tasks.

We have a good canteen, and we prioritize dining lunch together. In addition, we have an active staff association offering Friday bars, parties, table football tournaments, etc. You may also become part of the Financial Supervisory Authority's knitting, wine, football, badminton and/or running club.

As an employee of the Financial Supervisory Authority you also gain access to an internal career and competence program, flexitime arrangement, paid lunch break, massage arrangement and laundry arrangement.

Employment terms

The position is expected to be filled no later than January 1, 2027.

You can be placed as an assistant or senior advisor depending on your experience and background and will be employed under the applicable agreement between AC and the Ministry of Finance with the possibility of negotiating individual supplements based on qualifications.

It is a prerequisite for working at the Financial Supervisory Authority that you can present a clean criminal record.
