The Laboratory Unit, Pathology is seeking bioanalysts for a permanent position and some temporary positions. The permanent position is in the histology department, and the temporary positions are of 6 - 8 months duration and are in the histology and cytology departments respectively.

• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Start date: The permanent position and the temporary positions are to be filled by 1 December 2026 or by agreement.
• Working hours: Monday–Thursday between 07:00 and 15:30. Friday between 07:00 and 15:00

The tasks in the histology department include, among others

• Sectioning, microtomy
• Biobank and specimen reception
• Histochemical analyses
• Immunohistochemical analyses
• Digital pathology (scanning of glass slides)
• Work with advanced equipment, including a cutting robot (AS410)

The tasks in the cytology department include, among others

• Specimen reception and registration
• Preparation of cervical cytology samples
• Preparation of non-gynecological samples

About the Laboratory Unit

The Laboratory Unit is an exciting department that includes the specialties Pathology as well as Blood Testing and Biochemistry. The department serves the clinical departments at Randers Regional Hospital and the doctors and specialists in the area. The total staff is about 125 employees, distributed with about 45 staff in Pathology and about 80 staff in Blood Testing and Biochemistry. Bioanalysts form by far the largest group of personnel, but there are also physicians, AC staff, nurses and secretaries.

Pathology processes about 30,000 histological samples and about 90,000 cytological samples annually. The cytological samples mainly consist of screening samples from the cervical cancer screening program. The cervical cytology area was ISO-accredited in 2024.

Blood Testing and Biochemistry has a production of about 5 million analysis results per year, with a broad repertoire of analyses and a number of specialized analyses within the gastro- intestinal area. In addition, the department has a blood bank function with donor typing in Grenaa Health House and Randers Health Center as well as in four satellites. Blood Testing and Biochemistry has been ISO-accredited since 2006.
