About the job

Are you professionally grounded, thrive with responsibility, and want to be part of a department with fantastic multidisciplinary collaboration? Then apply for the position and gain a workplace where there is high professionalism, skilled and experienced colleagues, and a thorough introduction.

Short about the position

We are seeking an occupational therapist who would like to work with assessment, rehabilitation and habilitation in neurology.

The work takes place both in our neurological emergency department and in our rehabilitation stroke unit. You will primarily work with patients with acquired brain injury in both short assessment pathways and longer rehabilitation pathways.

What is common is that we have a strong inclusive multidisciplinary working environment, where therapists have a large share in planning the good patient pathways.

This is a fixed-term position of 37 hours per week.

Who are we?

The Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Department at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital is a clinically multidisciplinary department with its own research unit. We are passionate about making a professional difference, and therefore research, development and innovation are a priority for us.

We take responsibility for our professional standard, including the implementation of new knowledge, treatment and measurement methods, as well as hosting journal clubs and workshops.

You will become part of our apo-team, where we are 11 occupational therapists and 11 physiotherapists. The team has strong professional and social relations, and we always help each other when there is a need.

The team is part of the neurological group, where we total 27 therapists plus a research and development therapist.

We participate in several working groups both mono- and multidisciplinary with the aim of improving and developing patient pathways primarily in neurological settings. Currently we are focusing on implementing FIM, group exercise and health competencies.

Your main tasks will consist of

  • Acute ADL and swallowing assessments of neurological patients with goal setting and planning as well as recommendations for further rehabilitation needs and discharge destination.
  • Rehabilitation with additional treatment and regaining of function for patients admitted with acquired brain injury.
  • Close collaboration with the patient, relatives and the multidisciplinary team on the patient’s rehabilitation pathway, including participation in DIS (The Inclusive Rounds).

We imagine that you

  • Are passionate about the neurological specialty, have knowledge of dysphagia and cognitive dysfunctions.
  • Are professionally well-founded, strong in your clinical reasoning, and can convey it both orally and in writing.
  • Thrive in a hospital and can handle working with seriously ill people and their relatives.
  • Can work independently and are good at maintaining an overview and prioritizing.
  • Have good collaboration skills and see it as natural to involve multidisciplinary partners in patient pathways and task solutions.

We offer

  • Skilled and engaged mono- and multidisciplinary colleagues who prioritize thorough introduction, professional sparring and knowledge sharing highly
  • An exciting and varied daily life with professional challenges and responsibility where you never stand alone.
  • Focus on research and development, where there is an opportunity to influence the occupational therapy and rehabilitation initiatives and development work.
  • Positive expectations of you, and a leadership that prioritizes professional and personal development, innovation and well-being highly.

Employment terms

The temporary position is from January 1 to July 31, 2027

You must be available for flexible meeting times between 8:00 and 17:00 on weekdays. You will participate in weekend and public holiday shift arrangements on a 6-week rotation. A local allowance for the shift arrangement has been negotiated.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement for non-management staff for physiotherapists, occupational therapists and midwives, entered into among others with the Danish Physiotherapists/ Occupational Therapy Association, and the Regions’ Pay and Tariff Board.
