Become part of my team – a care assistant with a heart for nonverbal communication sought in Snoldelev near Roskilde

Do you think that communication is much more than words? Do you like getting to know a person through looks, signs, body language and pictograms? Then I think the two of us could get along really well 🙂

Little about me

I am 29 years old and of a happy disposition. I live at one end of my parents' house, which we have arranged to fit perfectly with my life with severe CP. I have a 24/7 assistance arrangement.

I am nonverbal, but far from quiet! I say a lot with sign-to-speech, AAC or visual communication, facial expressions and body language. The better we get to know each other, the better our conversations will become. It is something I look forward to most with a new helper: that we together find our very own language.

Is this you?

Perhaps you have worked with sign-to-speech, AAC or visual communication before. It may also be that you have experience from the autism field, e.g., from a residential facility, a special school or a day service, and know how much structure, predictability and visual support matters. Maybe you are just curious and want to learn. You are welcome no matter what!

I highly appreciate you if you

• are patient and good at reading small signals
• think it makes sense to give another person time to express themselves
• want to become more proficient in alternative communication
• can be an active part of my daily life, but also sense when I need calm or time with my family

You can be male or female, and almost all ages 🙂. The most important is that you can see yourself in the job, and that the chemistry is there 🙂

What will you help with?

You will help me with all personal care and the practical tasks in everyday life. I am moved with an overhead hoist and have an electric wheelchair. I have my own accessible car (with a driver), which we use when I need to go to my day service or go out to experience something with friends and family.

I also receive help with tube feeding and lung training with machine-assisted treatment and a CPAP mask. Don’t worry, you will receive thorough training in everything so that we both feel safe.

The practical

• Start date: As soon as possible
• Hours: To be agreed during the interview (part-time or full-time)
• Shifts: Mixed shifts 07:00–15:00, 15:00–23:00 and 23:00–07:30
• Facilities: Wi-Fi, television, microwave, refrigerator and electric kettle, which you are welcome to use when there is time
• Application deadline: 1.12.2026
• Interviews held on a rolling basis

The team covers shifts year-round, also in case of illness and holidays, so we greatly value flexibility 🙂

Salary and employment

The salary follows the tariff sheet for the disability helper agreement minus BPA. We will obtain a child- and criminal-record check upon employment.
