Become the permanent doctor at Future Nursing Home

Aalborg Kommune has since January 2017 with success rolled out the arrangement with practicing doctors affiliated with nursing homes in close cooperation with PLO-K Aalborg. All 39 nursing homes in the municipality (including private nursing homes and special care homes) have a permanently attached practicing doctor to the great satisfaction of all parties.

The nursing home doctors affiliated with Fremtidens plejehjem have chosen to terminate their function by the end of November 2026. Therefore, there is now an opportunity to become permanently affiliated as the doctor to the nursing home.

Fremtidens Plejehjem is located city-side on the harbor front in Nørresundby right down to the Limfjord. The nursing home is three stories high and has a total of 75 housing units. The arrangement with fixed doctors at nursing homes contains two elements:

• That residents of nursing homes are offered to switch to the doctor/ the medical practice that is permanently attached to the nursing home. Here patient treatment takes place as usual, i.e. with remuneration in accordance with the Agreement on General Practice and local agreements.
• That the practicing doctor provides general health professional guidance to the staff and for this service automatically receives a monthly fee according to the agreement. The guidance must not be related to the treatment of the individual patient. What the general guidance should include is agreed between the permanently attached doctor and the nursing home and adapted to local conditions. OK 22: § 63 Fixed attached doctor at a nursing home Sec. 1. Doctors who are permanently attached as the doctor at a nursing home are remunerated with a fixed monthly remuneration of 1,949.20 DKK, corresponding to two hours of guidance and/or teaching on average per month with an hourly rate of 974.60 DKK including travel time. If a nursing home doctor has more than 30 residents at a nursing home, the doctor can provide and be remunerated for an extra hour of monthly guidance and/or teaching.

There will generally be an emphasis on establishing a constructive and developmental cooperation between the permanently attached doctor, a fixed coordinator at the nursing home and the other staff.

Working hours

The working hours are as a rule 3 hours/month and remunerated with 2,923.80 DKK/month.

Number of housing units

Fremtidens plejehjem contains 75 housing units. All new residents will be offered a free transfer to the new practice. The transfer of patients will take place gradually and coordinated with the individual practice.

Transport

Travel time is included in the hourly rate calculation.

Employment criteria

Both solo physicians and partnership practices can apply to become permanently attached doctor at the nursing home. There will not be any employment interviews, but the municipality will, where there are more applicants than the need for permanently attached doctors, among other things take into account the current number of residents attached to the doctor as well as the doctor's geographical proximity to the nursing home.
