About the job

Do you want to lead skilled employees, ensure high professional quality and develop the operations in a complex tax-related area?

We are seeking a functional head who can set direction for the daily task execution, create results through the staff and actively contribute to the development of our professional area. You will be part of an engaged leadership team where we spar with one another, share responsibility and work to create the best solutions.

If you are motivated by the combination of personnel leadership, professional development and reliable operations, you could be our new functional head for unit FI 4 in Næstved.

About us

The FI 4 unit is a well-established operating unit in the Assets and Investments department in the Tax Administration. Together with our sister unit in Struer, we play an important role in the overall task solution in the estate area.

We handle cases concerning former employees, business owners and majority shareholders and work closely with probate courts, executors, lawyers, accountants, advisers and heirs to ensure correct and consistent case handling across the country.

Assets and Investments is one of six specialized departments in the Personal Tax area of the Tax Administration and comprises about 170 employees spread across five addresses in Denmark. The department's tasks cover the wealth and investment area, including taxation of crypto assets, information on foreign investments, estates, gifts, securities and money transfer information.

You will be part of an ambitious management team where we prioritize professional and managerial sparring, collaboration and shared responsibility. We have a relaxed work environment where trust, openness and a delegating leadership style are central values.

About the position

As functional head you will have the daily management responsibility for a unit with 18 professionally strong staff. Your most important task will be to create the framework for employees to succeed in their tasks, and for the unit to deliver results with high quality and efficiency.

You must provide direction and an overview in a daily life where professional considerations, production and prioritization must go hand in hand. At the same time you must ensure that legislation, practice and political decisions are translated into smooth operations.

You will play a central role in the continued development of both the staff and the task solution. This requires you to monitor results and progress, prioritize resources and create a shared understanding of what is most important – without losing sight of quality and well-being.

You will become part of the management team in the Person area and actively contribute to the overall development of the area. This entails close collaboration with the other managers and relevant partners across the Tax Administration.

Your staff solve a range of diverse tasks related to estates, which include administrative tasks, probate issues, valuation of the estate's assets and liabilities, and taxation of the estate's income.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • provide direction and be a present leader, sparring partner and driving force for the staff
  • ensure high professional quality, consistency and progress in case handling
  • plan and prioritize tasks and resources so that deadlines and goals are met
  • follow up on operations, production and results and translate the follow-up into concrete actions
  • support employees' professional development, engagement and well-being
  • actively contribute to the leadership team's shared responsibility for the department's overall task resolution
  • develop collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

About you

We are seeking a leader who can combine clear personnel management with professional understanding and reliable operations management.

You are present and trust-building in your leadership. You manage to set a clear direction, create followership and give employees responsibility and opportunity to develop. At the same time you are clear in your priorities and follow up when tasks and goals require it.

You thrive in a broad leadership role where you must handle everyday concrete issues and maintain an overview of long-term goals. You can translate strategies and decisions into action and create coherence between professional quality, efficient operations and employees' well-being.

We envisage that you

  • have experience with leadership or have competencies and motivation to take the next step into a leadership role
  • have a relevant educational or professional background
  • possess a solid professional understanding and preferably knowledge of the tax area, auditing, law or related areas
  • work in a structured manner with planning, prioritization and follow-up
  • communicate clearly and build good relations and collaboration
  • contribute actively to the collective in the management team and share responsibility for the whole

Knowledge of the tax matters in the personal, business-owner, main shareholder and estate area would be an advantage, but the right leadership profile and the ability to achieve results through others are also crucial.

We offer

At us you get a versatile leadership position with the opportunity to influence both daily operations and professional development.

You will become part of a professionally strong environment with engaged staff and leadership colleagues who prioritize collaboration and sparring. You will have a varied workday with complex problems, good opportunities for professional and personal development and the opportunity to make a noticeable difference for both the staff and the task solution.
