About the job

Do you want to use your nursing expertise in an area where clinical nursing, professional relationship work and person-centered care go hand in hand?

At Ålholmhjemmet, professionalism is not only about medicine, treatment and documentation. Professionalism also means being able to understand the person behind the dementia, creating security through the relationship and adapting one’s communication and approach to the individual resident’s needs.

We are therefore looking for an engaged and empathetic nurse who is strong in clinical nursing and who sees relationship work and a person-centered approach as a natural and important part of their professionalism. About Ålholmhjemmet

We are certified according to Eden Alternative and work from a person-centered approach, where we see the person before the illness and the task. The residents’ life stories, habits, wishes and relationships are therefore an important part of the care and support we offer.

With us you become part of a close multidisciplinary collaboration between social and healthcare assistants, social and healthcare helpers, nurses and management. We want a culture characterized by professionalism, trust, integrity and shared responsibility – and we believe there should be room for both seriousness, laughter and cozy moments in daily life. Your role with us

  • quality assuring selected professional areas
  • fulfilling the role as a key person within documentation, unintended incidents and palliative care
  • contributing to a safe, respectful and constructive collaboration with residents’ relatives.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are educated as a nurse and have experience from the dementia field or elderly care. You preferably have a diploma module or other relevant further education within dementia, but most important is that you want to bring your knowledge into practice and develop practice together with us.

We imagine that you

  • have knowledge of dementia diseases and person-centered care
  • recognize that relationship work, communication and a person-centered approach are essential parts of the nursing professional initiative in the dementia field
  • are familiar with the Eden Alternative principles
  • are professionally grounded and can convey your knowledge in a respectful and practice-oriented manner
  • work independently, Structured and analytical
  • maintain calm and an overview in complex or stressful situations
  • see the individual person while also having a view of the whole
  • have experience with teaching, guidance or professional sparring
  • communicate clearly and create safety with residents, relatives and colleagues
  • actively contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration and take responsibility for the community
  • meet others with respect, curiosity and openness
  • wish to contribute to developing both the professional quality and the good working environment.

What we offer

With us you get

  • a permanent position of 32–37 hours per week.
  • primarily day shifts

  • a workplace focused on professional development, quality and reflection
  • close collaboration with the house’s other nurses
  • engaged colleagues who help each other and take responsibility for the common task
