About the job

Do you want to lead a strong professional environment that each day protects Region Midtjylland's data and systems against digital threats and ensures that employees have the right access at the right time?

Every day, thousands of region employees must be able to access the right systems and data – securely, stably and without unnecessary barriers. At the same time, our digital solutions must be protected against attacks, misuse and theft. You will have central responsibility for this as the head of Operational Security and User Access in Digitalisation and IT.

We are therefore looking for a leader with a passion for people management, who can create good frameworks for highly specialized employees. You must be able to bring together different disciplines, create clear direction and support employees' well-being and development. At the same time, you should have a solid understanding of cybersecurity and operational security and be able to lead the development of the region's security capabilities.

Three areas of expertise with a common task

Operational Security and User Access consists of three areas; Operational Security, Active Directory, and User Management, Identity Verification and Login Solutions.

Employees develop, maintain and operate solutions within each of their specialized fields. You will therefore lead employees who, among other things, administer access, identities and system logins and work with device protection, security incident monitoring, vulnerability management, log collection, and handling of digital threats.

The areas have different tasks and specialties but are closely interdependent. An important task for you will therefore be to unify the area and ensure that competencies, capacity and resources are brought into play in the best possible way – in a daily life where stable operation, complex cases and ongoing development must go hand in hand.

Your role as area head

You will have personnel responsibility for 20 employees and must create the framework for them to succeed in a daily life with high demands for security, stability and quality. You have experience with people management and with leading specialized employees in a technical environment. You also have an understanding of IT operations and information security and can familiarize yourself with complex technical problems.

You will have, among other things, responsibility for

  • creating well-being, motivation and professional development through visible and close management
  • creating alignment and common direction across disciplines
  • maintaining overview, prioritizing and translating requirements, risks and organizational needs into action
  • supporting stable and secure operation while driving the development of the area's technologies, processes and standards
  • participating in the on-call rotation as Situation Manager
  • creating strong collaborative relationships and momentum across a complex organization
  • ensuring that information security requirements, compliance and documentation are translated into practice
  • taking responsibility and actively contributing to the common management work
  • following up on budget, resources, deliveries and results

You do not need to be a specialist in the area’s technologies. It is, however, important that you have an understanding of security risks, can participate qualifiedly in the professional priorities and be an active sparring partner for the area’s specialists.

In addition, we would like you to have experience with or knowledge of some of the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity and operational security as well as threat landscape in a complex organization
  • Identity Management, IAM, privileged access/PAM, least privilege, MFA and Zero Trust principles
  • ISO 27001/27002, NIS2 and CIS Controls/CIS18
  • Audit and response to findings and observations

It is also an advantage if you have experience from a politically governed organization or another organization with high requirements for security, documentation and stable operation.

Security is created across

The area’s solutions have great significance for the entire Region Midtjylland, and cooperation will therefore be an important part of your daily life. You will work closely with, among others, subject matter leads, product owners, architects, project managers, Service Management and other leaders and areas.

You must be able to bring together different perspectives and create progress in tasks with many technical, organizational and security dependencies – and help find the right balance between security, user-friendliness and stable operation.

Welcome to Infrastructure and Operations

Operational Security and User Access is part of the Office of Infrastructure and Operations in Digitalisation and IT. Here, we deliver and develop the secure, stable and up-to-date IT infrastructure that is a fundamental prerequisite for Region Midtjylland's daily operations and development.

As area head, you will be part of a professional management team together with the office head and your area head colleagues. Here you will have the opportunity to influence both your own area and the overall development of Infrastructure and Operations.

Together, we work to translate the health service's needs into digital development and contribute to national and cross-regional agendas and priorities.
