About the job

Smaller can do it too. But do you want to help change the Danish landscape? With the green tripartite you must reallocate large areas so there is more room for nature and a better water environment. It requires not only big plans and political ambitions. It also requires people who can create dialogue, find solutions and enter into agreements with the landowners who must contribute land to the changes.

In Nature- & Agricultural Development in the Agency for Green Land-Use Reallocation and the Water Environment, we are therefore busy. We are seeking several land redistribution planners for our teams around the country.

As a land redistribution planner you will play a central role in translating the green ambitions into concrete results. Through voluntary agreements on the purchase, sale and exchange of land you help create solutions that make room for nature while taking landowners' interests into account.

It requires that you can build trust, navigate different interests and keep track of the legal, financial and practical details. In return you will have the opportunity to shape concrete changes in the Danish landscape.

Your role: From plans to concrete agreements

As a land redistribution planner you work at the intersection of agriculture, nature and property law. Your task is to translate plans for land-use restructuring into solutions that can be implemented in practice.

You take the initiative to dialogue with landowners, identify their wishes and needs, and negotiate voluntary agreements on the purchase, sale and exchange of land and properties. It requires strong relational skills, an understanding of the individual landowner's situation, and the ability to find solutions that accommodate different interests.

You drive your own case history from the initial contact and negotiation to the required documentation and the implementation of the land redistribution. Along the way you collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure that the agreements are legally, financially and technically in place.

You will have independent responsibility for your tasks, but you will not be alone. You will become part of a professional community in Nature- and Agricultural Development, where we share knowledge, spar with each other and collaborate to find good solutions.

What you will work with

  • Dialogue and negotiation: You take the initiative to engage with landowners and build the relationships essential for entering into voluntary agreements. You listen to their wishes and concerns and work for solutions that take into account both the individual landowner and the project’s goals.
  • Implementation of land distributions: You work with the purchase of agricultural land, identify possibilities for replacement land and contribute to ensuring that land distributions work practically, financially and legally.
  • Coordination and progress: You drive your casework forward and coordinate efforts with landowners, municipalities, consultants, the National Nature Agency and other relevant partners.
  • Maps, documentation and case processing: You work with map data, GIS and digital documentation and contribute together with your colleagues to ensure that the agreements are correct and can be implemented within the applicable framework.

Who are you?

You thrive on building relationships, finding solutions and driving tasks forward. You understand that land redistribution is about more than land and property boundaries – for the individual landowner, personal, financial and business interests can be at stake.

You are good at listening, building trust and handling dialogues where different considerations must be balanced. At the same time you work in a structured manner, follow your cases to completion and have an eye for the details that are essential for the agreements to be implemented.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant education, e.g. as an agricultural economist, surveyor or similar – or have built up a solid professional foundation through several years of relevant work experience, e.g. in farming, agriculture, property, land management or advisory. Your educational background is not decisive if you have the right competencies.
  • Have experience with dialogue and collaboration with farmers, landowners, agricultural advisers or other relevant actors and are comfortable entering into negotiations.
  • Work in a structured and methodical way and have a sense for details – both in case processing and in working with maps and digital tools.
  • Can plan and drive your own casework independently and purposefully.
  • Have ordinary IT skills and a willingness to work with digital tools, including GIS.
  • Contribute actively to a good work and learning environment and want to share knowledge and experiences with your colleagues.

You do not necessarily need to know everything from day one. The most important is that you have the right professional and personal prerequisites to create good agreements and move land redistributions forward securely.

Flexible working conditions

We offer a flexible way of working with a high degree of independence in planning your daily life and a workplace close to the projects you work with.

  • Home office and mobility: You will have a home office and will largely be able to drive directly from your home to your projects. You must also be prepared for meetings and collaboration across the country, including at the head office in Tønder.
  • Decentralized teams: You will become part of a team with colleagues spread around the country and gain access to a professional network where you can spar and share experiences.
  • Responsibility with professional backing: You drive your own casework but can rely on colleagues with different professional backgrounds when you need sparring or help finding solutions.

The office is located in Tønder, while our planner teams work around the country. We aim to assign you projects within a reasonable distance of your residence.

Travel to the projects is by your own car, and you will receive travel allowance according to the state’s applicable rules and rates.
