About the job

Do you want to be an active and central part of the implementation of the heavy brigade in the Army? Do you want an exciting daily life filled with planning and coordination in the implementation of the heavy brigade with a number of new and strengthened capabilities? Do you also want to be in close contact with the other agencies in the Defence Acquisition and Establishment group within the Defence Ministry, in terms of materiel procurement and establishment? Then you should apply for the position as caseworker at the Land Domain Department of the Defence Command.

About us

The Land Domain Department is part of the Defence Command's Development and Planning Staff, which among other things has the task of implementing the political top project with a Danish heavy brigade. The heavy brigade contains several infantry fighting vehicles, battle tanks and a range of specialized capabilities within, among other things, IT, communications, logistics, intelligence, artillery, air defense, bridging and mine clearance as well as logistics.

The program organization solves a broad portfolio of tasks in this context, including planning, management and coordination of the ramp-up of the many different and complex capabilities that make up the heavy brigade. The heavy brigade will be a high-technology, modern and very potent capability, which is important for Denmark and which can also be deployed within NATO for the defense of the alliance.

This is the largest materiel investment in the Defence in recent times, and a procurement that is important for Denmark with significant political attention. We therefore depend on good and smooth collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and partners within the Defence Ministry's group and the Defence Command's area.

Professionalism and good collaborative skills are in the forefront, and we set high standards for ourselves. Our work climate is characterized by a good and informal tone with a focus on results. We emphasize good conditions for your personal development as an employee.

About the position

We are seeking a caseworker who will be involved in the implementation of, among other things, the air defense capacity, which is part of the Army’s heavy brigade.

The key is that you are curious, analytically strong and have the courage and interest to take responsibility for operationalizing and developing complex sub-projects and deliverables within the program in the short and medium term.

It is expected that you take ownership of your areas of responsibility, so that together we can build the brigade in the right quality on time.

In the position you will

  • Take responsibility for a number of fixed projects, but you will also be involved in solving new tasks for the element. Implementation of the brigade's air defense capacity is expected to become a main task, but in addition there will be other sub-projects and/or deliverables within the Brigades Program, where it will be your task to develop plans for, and ensure the implementation of operational capabilities in the brigade.
  • Have good opportunities to develop your skills within staff processes, project management and cross-cutting collaboration, as well as achieving a higher degree of overall understanding of the Army, the Defence and the group as a whole.
  • Report to an element leader, but you will have independent responsibility for prioritized sub-projects within the Brigades Program.
  • Be able to collaborate directly with senior management in both the project and base organization across the group, thus gaining broad exposure within the group. Your main collaborators in the role will be the Army, the Defence Ministry's Material and Acquisition Agency, Establishment and Terrain Command, and other colleagues in the Development and Planning Staff.

You will thus have a broad range of relations across the group, which requires a high degree of independence, a well-developed analytical sense and an overall understanding of your collaboration relations and your own needs.

The work is flexible and home working is actively used to create balance between your and the department's needs.

About you

You have an academic education and preferably experience with project implementation. It is an advantage if you, through previous employment within the Defence Ministry's area, have knowledge of military professional conditions, but it is not a requirement.

The most important thing is that you are curious about development, analytically minded and able to form an overview of complex cases, where you quickly and securely can identify the essential elements.

To be successful in the position, it is also important that

  • You have an interest in developing yourself broadly, and you have the desire to contribute positively to the build-up of especially the brigade and the Army in general.
  • You are open, welcoming and possess the ability to create good collaborative relations, job satisfaction and a good working environment.
  • You are willing to learn, are creative and willingly challenge conventional thinking by challenging existing solutions.

Employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiation of supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

This is a permanent position with a fixed workplace in Copenhagen.

As an employee under the Defence Ministry's area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain and maintain security clearance throughout the employment period.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-enforcing, humanitarian and other similar operations.
