About the job

Do you want to be the central driving force behind a smoothly functioning operating room?

We are seeking an experienced nurse for a key role with responsibility for operating room programs, coordination and daily operations in our operating area. You will be the focal point for planning operating programs and will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal patient pathways, efficient use of resources, and good collaboration across professional groups.

The position is ideal for you who thrive with responsibility, coordination and complex logistical tasks, and who are motivated by creating structure, overview and solutions in a busy daily life.

About the position

As the operations and flow coordinator, you will have a central role in the daily management of the flow around the operating activity. You will be responsible for ensuring that patients and staff experience a well-planned daily routine where operating programs, staffing and resources come together in a coherent whole.

Shift planning, handling of sick leave and ongoing allocation of resources are a natural and important part of the role. You should therefore thrive on taking responsibility for daily operations and have an eye for both staff well-being and the overall capacity.

The position is a key function in the operating department without personnel management. You will be responsible for creating an overview, coherence and quality across patient pathways and operating activity. Through professional coordination and operations management you contribute to high patient safety, optimal workflows and efficient use of the department's resources. The role requires strong collaboration skills, a sharp eye for quality and the ability to maintain an overview in a busy and dynamic everyday life.

Your primary tasks

  • Planning and coordination of operations across specialties
  • Ensure optimal use of operating capacity and an efficient patient flow
  • Development and maintenance of rosters for nursing staff and service staff
  • Daily allocation of resources in response to changes in activity and staffing
  • Handling of sick leaves, vacation requests and acute staffing challenges
  • Coordination of temporary staff and extra staffing as needed
  • Daily coordination of activities in the operating room
  • Handling of changes, cancellations and rebookings
  • Close collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, operating room staff, recovery and the secretariat
  • Contribute to ongoing optimization of workflows, capacity and operations

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Is a registered nurse
  • Has several years of experience in the operating or anesthesia area
  • Preferably has experience with coordination, booking or planning
  • Has an interest in operations, capacity management and resource planning
  • Has experience with or flair for shift scheduling
  • Works in a structured and systematic manner
  • Is robust and action-oriented
  • Communicates clearly and professionally
  • Thrives with many collaboration interfaces
  • Can maintain an overview when plans change

We offer

  • An independent key role with great influence on daily operations
  • Close collaboration with the hospital's doctors, nurses and management
  • Opportunity to influence the development of the operating area
  • A workplace with high professionalism, short decision paths and a focus on quality
  • Professional and personal development
  • Salary and terms of employment according to qualifications

Application deadline

  • October. Applications will be invited for interviews on an ongoing basis.
