About the job
Do you want to help create good frameworks for young people and adults with challenges who need a special housing offering? And do you want to help design and develop Carelink Sheltered Housing as a department head in a strong team of department heads with a high level of professional expertise? If yes, then it is you we are looking for.
Carelink Sheltered Housing consists of 3 departments, where the target group is children, youths and adults who require a specially arranged residential care according to the Child Act §43 or the Social Services Act §107 and §108.
The target group for each department is characterized by a number of challenges that require a special effort, and where the individual receives 1:1 or 2:1 support. The support is provided by social and pedagogical staff with specialized knowledge within the specific area, where you as department head help operate and shape the individual department.
We are seeking a department head for a new department for residents with challenges within the autism spectrum and developmental disabilities. The department consists of a number of small apartments, where each resident lives alone in a sheltered environment. There is a fixed staff of pedagogical personnel around the individual with a fixed ratio of either 1:1 or 2:1 support, and where most residents require long-term and extensive support.
Organizationally you as department head will become part of a group of department heads in a multidisciplinary field, and you will report to the Area Manager for Carelink Sheltered Housing.
About the job
As department head you have the daily personnel responsibility for a staff of 20 - 25 skilled and dedicated employees with a high degree of professional knowledge and expertise within the area. You must therefore be good at and able to lead and motivate professionals, and ensure the methodological and pedagogical approach towards the individual resident. Likewise, shift planning, employment relations and accessible leadership are a major part of the task.
Quality and competence development are given high priority, and your tasks will be to focus on this both individually and in the staff group, as well as ensure that employees work based on fixed approaches, methods and procedures. In addition, the task is to ensure that documentation such as status reports and similar high-quality outputs are prepared for authorities according to current practice.
As department head your responsibility is both to ensure operations and quality in the individual department, but also to collaborate with authorities such as the placing municipality, the Social Supervisory Authority (Socialtilsynet) and other actors. Therefore the ability to collaborate across disciplines is highly valued, where good collaboration together with secure operations should be reflected in daily work and in written documentation.
A driving licence and a car are a necessity to be able to perform the task.
Your profile
You have practical experience with the target group within autism and developmental disabilities, and with a social or health care education as a pedagogue, teacher, social worker, nurse or social- and health assistant. If you have leadership experience, that is a plus, otherwise you should be willing to participate in a development plan as a new leader.
You are used to and eager to engage in close collaboration with the individual advisor in the municipality and other actors around the individual resident, and you have experience with and understanding of working with relatives, which is an important part of the daily work.
You are strong in your communicative abilities both written and verbal with a sense of good systematics and documentation practice.
We offer
- An organization in continual development that places high value on professionalism and integrity.
- A workplace with good colleagues at all levels, characterized by a high professional level, strong commitment and ambitions.
