Social educators for a residential facility at Sundholm

At Sundholm Pleje we are looking for two full-time employed social pedagogues who want to become part of a multidisciplinary community where the relationship with residents is important, and where no day is the same.

With us you will meet people with complex life histories and extensive social challenges. We are located in the heart of Sundholm – a unique area in Copenhagen where several social services work side by side around some of the city\'s most vulnerable citizens. At Sundholm you meet people with very different life histories.

With us the target group is characterized by residents who have extensive social problems, mental disorders, active use of intoxicants and somatic challenges, which are often linked to the latter.

Behind the problems we meet people with resources, hope and desires for their own lives – and that is where our work begins.

About Sundholm Pleje

Don\'t be mistaken by the name. Sundholm Pleje is not a care home. We are a long-term residential facility under the Danish Social Services Act § 108. We consist of two departments with the same resident group divided into: The Collective and the Care Collective.

We work from Low Arousal and a recovery-oriented approach, where the starting point in residents\' own goals, wishes and possibilities is a carrying element. Our task is to support residents in everyday life and life-sustaining activities within the framework of a residential facility, as well as to help residents achieve the greatest possible quality of life and stability based on the resources they have available.

The work with us spans a wide range. Some days it is about the motivational conversation over a cup of coffee. Other days it is about conflict management or coordination with psychiatry, hospitals and authorities. Therefore we are looking for pedagogues who can combine warmth with clarity and relationship work with a basis in common professional methods.

Your role as a social pedagogue

You will become an important part of the pedagogical effort around the residents and will, among other things, work with

• relationship work and building trusting relationships
• a recovery-oriented approach to the work
• motivation and support for structure and stability in daily life
• conflict management and professional boundary setting
• health and social care interventions around the residents
• dokumentation and follow-up on interventions and pedagogical goals
• cooperation with authorities, psychiatry, hospitals and other partners
• interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues across professions and on-call shifts
• contribution to strengthening the pedagogical practice

Work is often carried out in pairs, and we prioritise collective professional reflection and sparring in everyday life.

At Sundholm Pleje we work purposefully to strengthen the pedagogical effort. Therefore we are looking for social pedagogues who want to actively contribute with professional reflection and curiosity. You don\'t need to know everything from day one – the most important thing is that you want to learn, develop and be an active part of a professional community.

For us supervision, sparring and collective reflection are a natural part of the job.

About you

You are trained as a pedagogue or social pedagogue and preferably have experience with – or an interest in – working with citizens with active drug use and complex social issues. It may also be that you are a recent graduate with relevant practical or professional experience.

Employment terms

This is two permanent positions with a working time of 37 hours per week with mixed day and evening shifts and a weekend shift every 3 weeks. Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement for social pedagogues.

Start date 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible. In connection with the appointment we will obtain references and a criminal record check.
