About the job

When the security situation changes from day to day, the Defence must be able to rely on equipment and IT functioning, also in crisis and war. You plan the readiness, train the organization to handle crises, and keep an overview when the pace is at its peak. If you are good at creating an overview and solving tasks across a large organization, this is a job for you.

ABOUT US

The Operations Department at the Danish Defence Ministry's Material and Procurement Agency is the link that translates strategy into action and keeps management informed about the operational reality, so decisions can be made on an up-to-date basis. As a cross-cutting staff function, we support both the daily planning and the leadership of the Defence Ministry's Material and Procurement Agency.

Our work ranges from intelligence and operations planning to training and operations support, which provides the Defence Ministry's Material and Procurement Agency with a permanent operational capability to handle crises when they arise. We are a team with both military and civilian backgrounds, varying levels of experience and competencies, and we maintain an informal tone in everyday life combined with a high professional ambition level.

ABOUT THE POSITION

You help ensure that the Defence Ministry's Material and Procurement Agency is ready to support the Defence – also when crises and extraordinary events occur.

Your task is to strengthen the agency's readiness and ensure that the relevant parts of the organization are involved when the situation requires it.

Your tasks include, among others

  • Emergency planning across the agency, where you lead projects and coordinate tasks.
  • Threat and vulnerability assessments that support the agency's readiness.
  • Support for emergency exercises and collection of experiences that can strengthen readiness.
  • Crisis management, where you contribute to creating an overview and ensuring coordination in pressurized situations.
  • Cooperation with the Defence and international partners.

You will have broad professional contact and the opportunity to build a strong professional network. At the same time, you will influence how the agency prepares for future threats. Your areas of responsibility develop in line with your experience, and you will have the opportunity to strengthen your competencies through national and international courses.

We place emphasis on a good working environment where trust, fairness and cooperation form the basis of our daily life. You will also have flexibility to organize your work, including the possibility of home working.

ABOUT YOU

You likely have an academic education, but we are also open to other educational backgrounds. The most important thing is that you have an interest in readiness development and operations. If you also have knowledge of the Defence or experience with operations or emergency planning, it is an advantage, but not a requirement.

You work independently and take responsibility for carrying your tasks from start to finish. You maintain an overview, even when the pace increases, and you easily build good relations across disciplines. In addition, you communicate clearly and precisely in both Danish and English – verbally and in writing.

If you have a different background but can see yourself in the position, we would love to hear from you.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

You are employed under the applicable collective agreement at any given time.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is the possibility of negotiating additional pay. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee within the Defence Ministry's area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance throughout the employment relationship.

You, as an employee, have an obligation to render service outside the country’s borders, including units in international operations with the aim of participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
