About the job

Become the professional driving force that ensures strong and coherent advice to the leaders in Children and Youth, Vejle Municipality

About the job

Do you want to help raise the quality of our advisory services?

In Children and Youth we work every day to create the best possible framework for the wellbeing, learning and development of children and young people. This requires skilled leaders at our schools, institutions and in the staff. Therefore, we have a strong staff team that supports the leaders in handling personnel law, personnel management and difficult personnel cases.

We are looking for a chief consultant who wants to lead the professional development of the personnel team and be the central sparring partner in some of the most complex personnel-related issues.

As a chief consultant, your main task will be to ensure that the personnel team works consistently, coordinatedly and with high professional quality. At the same time, you should help create a coherent experience for leaders in Children and Youth so that they experience qualified advice and guidance throughout the process—from the first sparring to the case being closed.

A central role in Children and Youth

You will become the professional leader of a strong personnel team consisting of human resources assistants, personnel consultants, a negotiating consultant and a personnel lawyer.

Personnel management lies with the head of Personnel and Finance. Your task is to set the professional direction, coordinate tasks and support the development of the team's competences and problem solving.

Around 70% of your time will be focused on professional sparring, guidance, coordination and development of the team. The remaining 30% you will work on the most complex and principled personnel cases and, in busy periods, on ordinary operations.

Your main tasks will be to

  • coordinate and prioritize the personnel team’s tasks
  • ensure coherent and consistent advice to leaders across Children and Youth
  • be the professional sparring partner for the personnel consultants
  • support the team in handling complex and principled personnel cases
  • contribute to the development of the professional quality of the team’s services
  • advise leaders in particularly difficult personnel cases
  • interpret legislation, collective agreements and other rules in the personnel area
  • engage in dialogue and negotiate with professional organizations
  • develop workflows, tools and common standards in the personnel area
  • contribute to knowledge sharing and competence development in the personnel team
  • assist in solving the team's tasks during busy periods

Our expectations for you

  • You have a long higher education, for example a Master of Laws (cand.jur.) or similar
  • You have solid experience with personnel law and personnel management in the public sector
  • You have experience with advising and sparring with leaders
  • You have a sense of the whole and can create structure and direction in complex tasks
  • You want to coordinate and develop a professionally strong team
  • You thrive as the professional expert whom others seek advice from
  • You have experience with dialogue and collaboration with professional organizations

The personal dimension is at least as important

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are professionally strong, but also friendly, approachable and proactive. You meet others with respect and curiosity and have a natural desire to help colleagues and leaders find good solutions. You are confident in your advice, but also committed to finding common good solutions.

About us

The personnel team is part of the staff, where we are passionate about solving our tasks with high quality. We strive for a good work environment in a flat organization where there are good opportunities for collaboration and sparring with colleagues. In addition, we strive to be an administration with high ambitions, good leadership and motivated employees who every day contribute to making a visible difference for children, young people and families in Vejle Municipality.

The personnel team consists of human resources assistants, personnel consultants, a negotiating consultant, a personnel lawyer and a chief consultant. Together we support leaders across the entire Children and Youth and contribute to their success in their leadership tasks.

We offer you

With us you will have the opportunity to influence how we as an administration support leaders across day care, schools, the special needs area and the staff. There is room to maneuver, great freedom to influence workflows and a short path from idea to action. At the same time you will have a broad and varied task portfolio and access to strong sparring from both colleagues, managers in Children and Youth and Vejle Municipality’s central HR department.
