The position

As Chief Accountant you report to our CFO and are responsible for ensuring a strong, accurate and well-functioning accounting function. You will be a key person in the finance, with close collaboration with management, the departments and colleagues across the organization. The position becomes available because the current Chief Accountant is retiring. You step into the role with support from good colleagues as well as clear descriptions and guidelines.

You must be professionally robust, able to create overview from the start and independently familiarise yourself with the business, the systems and SAWO's way of working.

You must be able to drill down into detail when numbers require it, and lift your gaze when the finances need to be translated into decision support, prioritisation and progress. Therefore the role requires a profile strong in accounting, confident in the systems and good at creating structure without making things heavier than necessary.

Your main tasks

• Daily leadership, operation and development of the accounting function's tasks, including prioritization, quality assurance and follow-up.
• Responsibility for payroll processing, monthly closings, annual closings, reconciliations, reporting in dialogue with CFO and auditor.
• Ensuring correct accounting processes, internal controls, documentation and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Preparation and further development of management reporting, budgets, forecasts and key figures.
• Liquidity monitoring, accounts receivable/payables management, VAT, duties and other financial authorities.
• Optimization of workflows in Navision 2016 and Business Central, so that the systems support the business as effectively as possible.
• Close collaboration with management and operations managers on financial overview, decision basis and ongoing improvements.

Your profile

We imagine that you have a background as an auditor, either from the auditing industry or as part of a previous career path. You have solid accounting understanding, are used to working in a structured way and can translate technical precision into practical solutions in a busy company.

• You have strong experience with accounting, controlling, monthly reporting and annual accounts.
• You have documented experience with Navision 2016 and Business Central - or such strong ERP understanding that you become fully operational quickly.
• You have solid business understanding and can explain finances so others can act on it.
• You work accurately, calmly and systematically - even when there are many balls, documents and decisions in the air.
• You are collaborative, clear and proper in your communication.
• You have leadership potential or leadership experience and can create direction, structure and wellbeing in an finance team.
