About the job

Do you want to lead a strong acute psychiatric service where professionalism, accessibility and coherence in the patient pathway are essential?

Do you have strong leadership skills, clinical understanding and a desire to develop acute psychiatry? Can you create direction and calm in a daily life with high pace and where tasks are often complex and unpredictable?

Then you might be our new Chief Nurse in the Acute Team at Psychiatric Centre Ballerup.

About the position

As Chief Nurse in the Acute Team you will have a central role in the development of our acute psychiatric services.

The Acute Team is an important focal point for patients who need a rapid psychiatric assessment and intervention, and for collaboration with our other clinical offerings, somatic partners and municipalities.

It requires a leader who can balance close clinical insight with strategic vision across the organisation.

You will have the managerial responsibility for staff well-being, professional development and work environment and will simultaneously be an important driver in work on quality, patient safety and coherent patient pathways. The staff group consists of nurses, psychologists and social psychiatric nurses.

We are in a psychiatry in transformation. With the integration with Herlev and Gentofte Hospital and the upcoming health system development, the Acute Team will play a key role in creating good and coherent transitions between psychiatry, somatics, municipalities and other services.

You will become part of the management team at Psychiatric Centre Ballerup and thus have the opportunity to shape both the development of the Acute Team and contribute to the overall development of the centre.

Your main tasks

You will among other things be responsible for

  • setting a clear professional and managerial direction for the Acute Team
  • ensuring high quality and patient safety in the acute psychiatric service
  • creating a framework for staff to succeed with a complex and dynamic task, and developing the team’s competencies and professional expertise based on patients’ needs
  • working systematically with quality, data, improvements and development of practice
  • supporting coherent patient pathways across the Acute Team, 24-hour unit, outpatient services and external partners
  • creating a strong culture characterised by collaboration, psychological safety, feedback and high professionalism and ensuring appropriate organisation and use of resources
  • being visible and accessible to staff, working strategically, actively participating in the centre’s leadership community and contributing to cross-sectional solutions

We are looking for

We imagine you are a nurse with both psychiatric experience and knowledge of leadership, and ideally from psychiatry and/or the acute area or another complex clinical field.

You

  • are clear and present in your leadership and clinical practice and inspire followers
  • remain calm in complexity and make decisions, even when tempo is high
  • have strong clinical understanding and interest in acute psychiatry
  • are focused on creating value for the patient – also when the patient’s needs do not fit into the organisational structures
  • can translate strategy into concrete practice and have a view on staff, operations, quality, economy and development
  • are curious and dare to challenge existing workflows when they no longer make sense
  • are listening and inclusive, but also decisive when direction is needed, motivated by interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration and have ambitions on behalf of nursing and psychiatry

The most important thing is not that you can do everything from the start. The most important is that you want to take responsibility, drive development and be part of our leadership community.

We offer

  • A central leadership role in the development of acute psychiatry
  • Opportunity to influence both professionalism, culture and organisation
  • A strong and ambitious leadership community with close sparring
  • Opportunity to work in both clinical reality and strategic development
  • A multidisciplinary environment with high complexity and strong professional competencies
  • An workplace where we insist on developing psychiatry together
  • A leadership role with a large degree of independence, responsibility and real influence

About Psychiatric Centre Ballerup

Psychiatric Centre Ballerup is one of the country’s larger psychiatric centres and part of Herlev and Gentofte Hospital.

We work purposefully with quality, professionalism, culture, working environment and coherent patient pathways – with the ambition to put people first, both patients and staff.

We are also an organisation in development. The integration with Herlev and Gentofte Hospital and changes in the health system set new demands on how we think about psychiatry, collaboration and patient pathways.

We believe that the psychiatry of the future should be created close to the patient, close to the staff and across professions and sectors.

Here you have the opportunity to be part of exactly that.
