We are seeking two consultant psychiatrists for the Psychosis Unit 06/07, Psychiatric Department Vejle

Are you motivated to make a difference for people with severe mental illness, and driven by high professional standards, cross-disciplinary collaboration and the development of psychiatry? Then you may be the consultant psychiatrist we are looking for for Psychosis Unit 06/07 at the Psychiatric Department Vejle.

We are seeking two engaged and professionally strong consultant psychiatrists. As a consultant psychiatrist you will have responsibility for half of Unit 06/07, and work closely with the consultant psychiatrist who handles the other half of Unit 06/07. It is expected that both consultants can work across the entire unit.

About Psychosis Unit 06/07

Psychosis Unit 06/07 is an integrated inpatient ward with capacity for 30 patients. We primarily receive patients with psychoses, but also treat patients with other psychiatric issues.

We emphasise a holistic treatment approach, where the patient’s perspective, recovery, safety and the possibility to regain a meaningful everyday life are central elements.

Your tasks

As a consultant psychiatrist you will play a central role in the medical leadership and in the ongoing development of the unit.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

• Have the medical responsibility for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with psychotic disorders.
• Ensure high quality of treatment with a focus on evidence-based methods and individualized treatment pathways.
• Actively participate in the interdisciplinary collaboration with nurses, psychologists, social and health care assistants and other professions.
• Contribute to professional sparring, supervision and competence development among staff.
• Support a good collaboration with patients, relatives, municipalities and other relevant partners.
• Participate in collaboration with the unit’s management on the overall development of the unit and its treatment environment.

Experience with professional leadership, supervision or development work would be an advantage, but the most important is that you are willing to take responsibility for the professional development and contribute positively to the community.

About the Psychiatric Department Vejle

The Psychiatric Department Vejle consists of the emergency department (PAM) and inpatient wards located close to Lillebælt Hospital in Vejle, as well as three local psychiatric services in Kolding, Fredericia and Vejle.

Inpatient wards and local psychiatric services maintain close cooperation with joint meetings and videoconferences.

The department continually prioritizes improvements within working environment, education, research, innovation and high-quality patient care.

Salary and terms of employment

Follows current agreements between Danish Regions and the Association of Specialists (FAS). The position is covered by local pay setting.

The region is obligated to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in Underordnede læger - overenskomst 33.06.1 - løn pr. 1.4.2026 And Overlæger - overenskomst 33.04.1 - løn pr. 1.4.2026

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiable allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
